Oh hell, for the first time, I accept that the end justify the means. I'm getting bald from too much thinking. You have more twist n turns than desperate housewife. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup: more! more!

The worst thing, she starts out 1 path and twists around it till it gets to another path, absolutely different and unrecognisable.

We first get something like, "I'll donate. I support the cause, think of the paitents. Where have u heard these 'facts'? (when its blindingly obvious on the papers)"

Subsequently it changes to things like, "Where can I withdraw my donation?"

All of a sudden, the twist goes to, "I feel that NKF had turned their backs on Durai..."

Left-right-centre.... And I think I'm getting senile for my age (goodness... I'm not even 30 yet!!!). I think its time I paid a vist to my doctor

p/s: The style of writing just reminds me of someone... else... so familiar.... a cultist.... whose main residence is in HWZ. How frightening, stuff like this juz traumatises and haunts u.

I wonder, for this kind of defamation court case, was there a pre-hearing for both sides before the judge, and mediation to avoid a full court battle? The NKF side would at least know what would be revealed at court?

I'm wondering whether perhaps this could be part of a well-orchestrated Govt coup to take down NKF after years of putting up with the rotten-ness inside.

1) Davi is MM Lee's lawyer and a *** MP. You really think he would be allowed to tear the heart out of NKF so publicly knowing the likely consequences, without some high-level green-light from the powers that be?

2) You think that ST's article would have been allowed to stand and this thing dragged all the way to court (with the obvious outcome of dirty linen being aired) without the same kind of high-level green light? SPH is Govt owned, don't forget.

3) The way SPH quoted Mrs Goh and put her unflattering photo (walking beside Durai) almost feels like an "ambush" job, to deliberately reveal her influence in NKF and opinions about the way things there are run.

Sounds like 1 year after GCT steps down and LSL takes over as PM, the house-cleaning of rotten institutions has begun! :bsmilie:


Khaw Boon Wan today said they would not tear down NKF just to rebuild because things are not "rotten to the core". In order words, only some parts are "rotten". This is the most blatant Govt signal yet, from one of PM Lee's personally appointed Ministers, that the view from the (current) Govt is that there is indeed something rotten in NKF. PM Lee himself, in an soundbite from the US, aired over the radio this morning, said that he would not rule out a board of inquiry. They are serious on this matter :nono:

Donors pledge only $6,800 to NKF Cancer Fund during TV show

SINGAPORE : Donors pledged $6,800 to the NKF Cancer Fund as of 5pm on Thursday. This is a far cry from the previous shows which raised between $600,000 and $900,000.

Despite the 1-900 numbers being kept opened until 9pm, the NKF Cancer Show 3 did not actively canvas for donations.

But supporters of NKF turned up in force and packed the TV studio half an hour before the show started at 7.30pm.

The "Thank You Show" is the first presented, where no funds were actively raised on-air, but fans of foreign artistes like Jeff Zhang were not disappointed.

In the past few years, NKF has expanded its fund-raising efforts beyond just kidney, to include children and cancer patients. - CNA

I do support causes, do support the patients. But then i don't trust NKF not to turn their backs to patients, so i decide it's better to donate elsewhere. What's wrong with that?

I heard Mr. Durai's short interview on newsradio this morning. I thought he didn't sound apologetic at all - then again, why should he be? He was only earning peanuts. :bsmilie:

I personally know the ex-CEO TTD when I was a volunteer with NKF for the last 5 years (before I went overseas for studies), and recently resumed my volunteering. Before TTD became the CEO of NKF, he was a successful lawyer running his own private practice. He was earning definitely more than what NKF was paying him then. And given his intelligent and motivation, I'm sure he definitely can earn much more than what he got from NKF for the last 10 years if he had remained as a lawyer.

Nevertheless, TTD has resigned and I won't want to say further on this unfortunate NKF's saga.

Whoever wanna flame me for what I said, go ahead. I couldn't bother more.

if TTD stays as a lawyer,
he would be providing a service that clients' after.
he choose to be CEO of a VWO,
a different ballpark altogether n expects the same treatment,
i both perks and privacy,
that, is not acceptable.

No, no... There's absolutely no sin in giving ppl the freedom to choose how to view things.

But its simply.... entertaining to see stuff like dat. ;p All the twists and turns.... exercising ur brain and eye power to 100% once in a while is really good exercise. My headache for the past week had never been worst :thumbsup:

This is about democracy. As student (or someone) have mentioned, democracy is not about right or wrong, its about majority. Maybe we are all wrong and you are right. Wouldn't you say that is possible? Please don't go. We haven't reached page 100 yet. And please appreciate that what I'm trying to do is what the NFK have never done for Mr. Durai. We are all friends here. Please stay.

NKF as an organization explain how the financial is handled, and how it would allow a company with connections to its CEO be awarded a contract.

How in the world can they as an organization explain how matters of finance have been controlled by the top man and the BOD who approved of it in the first place? Besides, they have not been transparent over the years. There's a reason why such expenditures have been a closely guarded secret all this time -- most will only hear rumours, those who really know kinda sealed their lips or something.
