I understand that it is necessary for a UV filter to reduce the purples. Are these special UV filters or the normal kind such as those from B+W?

Gonna hit cheaper lenses initially so should I be concerned about anything from voigtlander on the M8? Likely to get the nokton 35mm f1.4 to start off.

Thanks for any thought.

These filters are not the normal type and are not cheap, they cost around 300 dollars each if you buy new, as far as I know.

Sorry, I was referring to the Leica IR filters, based on AD prices.

they are UV/IR filters to be exact. For b+w, get the 486 UV/IR filter. Not that cheap.

If you only shoot black and white, it's ok without filters, If you shoot colours, make sure you have them.

Not anymore, check it out in e-Bay. Leica or B+W 486 UV/IR filter price has lowered due to M9. :)

Not that expensive. Gope's Marketing is selling for about 100 plus even before the emergence of M9.

Where is Gope's Marketing situated? How to contact them? THanks
