You already said you feel irritated by not being able to go wider than 18mm. Go for the 10-22 since the 17-50 is giving you only a 1mm wider view. I don't think the 17-50 is your priority now.

im currently using 500d with 18-55kit lens and the cheap 50mm f1.8...
finally got the budget to get another lense....
the problem is....
which one should i buy first?????????

these are the lenses i plan to have to "fulfill" my gear.

-tamron 17-50mm.
-tokina 10-17 fisheye.
-canon 10-22 uwa.

which one to buy first leh????...
haizzz.....

need you guys to really help me out here..

thanks....:dunno:

If (you already have kit lens with another 50mm) then

canon 10-22 uwa //this will cover the full range for all needs at minimum cost

Else if (you can sell the kit lens) or (have extra cash for another lens), then

tamron 17-50mm //this will upgrade your lens quality, but in future may still need the wide angle depending on your usage

End if

So what are you recommending? Could you please speak up as I can't quite hear what you were trying to type. :)

When I want to buy lenses, to me it's a "to each its own" mentality.

Different people have different preferences on what they want to shoot.
1 lens may suit another but may not suit you.

My advice is, why not try renting the lenses if possible to try it out 1st? ;)

ok i will try renting .....

i juz came across this website http://www.camerarental.biz/..

iz this a good place to rent lenses?

or iz there other places that offer better rental service n price....??:dunno:

Hi actually, i was like you. There were so many things to try and so many pics to look at. Plus so many comments. I was confused.

I started reading up on DSLR since last year and didnt actually get it until sep this year. So I did a lot of questioning as to why i need to buy a DSLR in the first place. I tried my friend's camera and question myself why i need a DSLR?

So by advice i tried and work with budget, hands-on the camera and try shooting everything if i pop by some shops or if i managed to go out with friends.

So in the end, you got to really TRY and then question why would u need that =) i think what ur consideration for trying is really the way to go.

I am new too. So i bought a body and work on a cheap 50mm F1.8 then. Practice and practice and read manuals and ask ppl for comments =)
