Compact Travel Camera Recommendation

Currently using Olympus Pen EPL7 with 25mm prime lens
Good portrait photos but not quite all-purpose for travel
My shutter button has a little damage so probably wouldn't want to invest in a lens for this body anymore

Looking for an all rounded camera mainly for travel and shortlisted two cameras based on:
- Budget of $600ish (Pre-owned)
- Swivel screen
- Electronic viewfinder

Canon G5X vs Sony Rx100 III

Please give me your personal review/opinion or feel free to recommend other models that fit into my 3 requirement.

Or would a Olympus 12-40mm f2.8 lens with Olympus EPL7 a better combination than any of those mentioned?

Thanks!

How about Canon EOS M6? More flexibility, either EF-M or EF/S lenses.

Hmm I'd prefer non-changeable lens and built-in viewfinder actually. A simple set up without additional accessories for travel purpose only

Another compact camera that uses the 1" sensor and has EVF is the Panasonic LX10, haven't research to see if less than $600 2nd hand though. Of these 3, each have their pros and cons so neither is definitely better than the others. Sony RX100 III seems to be more popular though so may be easier to find 2nd hand.

If considering more zoom then can look at Panasonic TZ100/110. Similar ones are the newer TZ200 or the Sony RX100 Mark 6, however probably over budget. Good luck :)

Hi I've checked out Lumix before and both do not have swivel or flip screen. That's quite a deal breaker for me.
Yesss Rx100 M6 definitely fits the criteria except the price tag

I have the Sony RX100M4.
Advantages over the M3 are 4K video and a higher resolution EVF.
Comes up for sale from time to time.
Budget for an external charger and a spare battery. $69 at cheapest.
I also have the G1xM3. Better image quality with a nicer viewfinder, swivel screen and hotshoe.
But quite a lot more expensive and larger

Sony Rx100 III has got very good dynamic range due to the good 1 inch sensor, which I feel it is good for travel photography especially you can have better control when you do post processing
