do u mean upgrading to "FX in the future if you are on DX now."

may i know which model are u currently using?

:bsmilie: ah yes yes. FX. replied too early in the morning.. :bsmilie:

me using D80 now. still cant really find a good reason enough to upgrade the body to a D300 or more. but if i use my D80 enough and wait long enough, I am definitely going FX... Since I already have 2 FX lens out of 4 (non trinity lens though :( ).. i will just need another 2 more to complete it all..

and i also think its important to add in the factor if you are gonna upgrade to DX in the future if you are on DX now.

u dun wanna keep buying lens with every new body you get...

I understand what u mean (upgrade to FX in the future).

However, I don't see a point. Might as well just get a FX camera if you want the 24-70 range on FF? My point is, 24-70 on FX and 24-70 on DX is entirely different. On DX, it works as a mid-range zoom. Once you upgrade, it becomes a wide-angle.

Buy the range that suits your shooting style. You can always sell your lens later.

haha yep yep! i know i know. anyway it wasnt really directed at you... juz happened that you mentioned something quite practical, but also gotta bear something into conisderation.. but since TS already has a DX camera, of course he has to upgrade in the future. The option of starting with FX isnt really there no more...

oh btw, i like your portfolio! and you recently covered a friend of mine's wedding.. =)

Same here, probably future FX bodies will be more affordable for the masses, it would be a good time to move up then.

My friend's using the 24-70 on his D300, looks great so far :)

would u be able to ask ur friend to post some sample pics here? :)

no point buying a heavy fast DX/FX lense when u are interested in travel/landscape photography esp when u already got a 50 f1.8.

how often will lowlight affect ur photo/DOF? musuem/indoors? swapped lense n zoom with ur feet, u got a "24-70 F1.8" ;)

saved the $$$ n shoot more with the 18-200.
sell off the current setup n upgrade to FX when the BBB time is ripe

Hi same old thing is if you are unsure, just go down to any shop & try it out. Maybe u will understand wat you really need. But then if u r shooting landscape it might not be wide enough. Forget bout what crop factor or watsoever..... its yr choice and liking. :p
