Isit??? From the thread, it seems like this shop Infocomm at Funan is selling $28.90, unless this piece of news is outdated.

Hi,
I think the battery from Eastgear doesn't last as long as the original Minolta battery.. am I the only one that experience this or it's a known fact?
Previously when I got the Canon battery from Eastgear, it seem to have a longer battery life as compare to the original canon battery.. but not for the minolta battery.

Have tried two OEM batteries.
1. EW-NP400 1500mAh. Chrome contacts. EDWORKS Sticker at the bottom. Box has the word "DIGITAL"...around $30. Charge time shorter, so is the usage time. The usage time is around 60% of the MINOLTA battery. :nono: :thumbsd:

2. EastGear. EG-NP400 on packaging but CD-NP400 on battery. 1700mAh. Gold contacts. Around $32. Charge time and usage time as good as the MINOLTA battery.

I called the distributor for EDWORKS to request for an exchange as I suspect it's faulty and their initial response is, the battery is working fine and I shouldn't be complaining about it as the battery price is so much lower than original MINOLTA battery. He even said if their battery is as good, then MINOLTA will not have any more business. He started to explain the difference in battery technology and all the craps why the usage time is lower than MINOLTA.

However, he is quick to reverse and defend his "EDWORKS" battery when I mention EastGear battery which work as well as the MINOLTA. He now started to thanks me for giving valuable feedback and claim his company is all about quality. He then claimed his "EDWORKS" battery will work as well as the EastGear battery and will look further into the "problem battery", and will call me back.

Both battery bought less than 1 month ago.

Hmm... I was contemplating on a spare battery. Thnx for the heads up! :D

I have bought the "Digital" boxed before for my FZ5, same situation, it only last about 60-70% of the of the original Panasonic Li-ion battery, although it claim to have double the battery power storage (1200mAh, instead of original 600mAh, yet finish faster).
While bought the EastGear battery for KM 5D, it last as long as the original battery and don't do exorbitant claim.
