Hopefully we won't have to "wait and see" much longer. Rumours are starting to fill the 'air-waves' with various models expected to come to fruition in the not-to-distant future. Where's there smoke, there's usually fire.

A new 7D Mk II and a high megapixel full-frame offering would be welcome news and something to talk about. The recent drought of new offerings over the past several months has to end some time. New lenses would also be welcomed and should be close to announcement.

It would remain a great option for me until a mirrorless vendor manages to come up with a decent pancake zoom lens that gives me better range and speed than 24-120mm (equiv.) f2.0-f3.9.

I am intrigued by the G1X2. But there is a mirrorless camera that is comparable: Sony A6000 + kit lens, similar weight and price. Sure, the Sony kit lens only covers 24-75 mm (equiv.) f/3.5-5.6. But I'm sure Sony's APS-C sensor is ~ 1 stop better than G1X2 sensor. Also, the DOF coverage is quite similar except at the wide (24 mm) end.

Anyway, will wait for G1X price to drop first...
