[ COMING ] - Olympus next OM-D (E-M6?) Rumors sure starts early!

Or you can wait for E-M5 owners to offload and upgrade. ;)

My request very simple.. I just want everything in em5, but design like ep5 will do

I actually wished the E-M5 successor will be just a tiny little bit bigger, closer to the old OM film cameras. =P

Must not be bigger than the current EM5.

I also hope it can be slightly bigger like their OM ancestors.
sometimes putting bigger lens on em5 can looks a bit unbalance.
We can also have a built in flash if em6 is bigger.

Noooo....:-)

If you want bigger, then go for 4/3 dslr. The value of m4/3 is size and compactness.

Actually built in flash can be added without making it bigger. Just opposite the VF. Then the IS moved down to body

If they can produce superbly clean shadows at Base ISO, I would be happy enough to reconsider the system.

no, I will never go for 4/3 as it is too dslr style and tool heavy with their range of current 4/3 lenses.
I am more towards retro OM style, hence i wish em6 can be a bit bigger like OM cameras and can mount small m43 lens.

I agree it should not be bigger. If people want bigger, just use the HLD-6.
The biggest selling point of m43 for me is the small size, and the E-M5 let's you customize it by making it bigger if (and only if) you need it.

I think it's perfect this way, in fact they should make the camera smaller, and also offer to sell the HLD-6 without the bottom part and with access to the battery compartment.

i guess it is personal preference.

Hope Olympus can come up with a good size (hopefully not smaller, at least maintain its current size)
ofcourse, slightly bigger will be better.

My personal preference is for the E510/E520 body. The size is between the EM-5 and E5, and thanks to the large grip, handles the larger lenses quite well.

Contributors should have the priviledge to 1 to 1 trade in their EM5 for EM6.

Contributors should get discounted em6 in return

Anyone has the connections can forward this thread to Oly ? Don't even need to spend money on focus group discussion

well to me no difference... EM5 or EM6 price range is out of my league liao since photography is not my #1 reason of getting my camera... but i contribute because i'm fan of m43 format... because:
1) i believe in portability is important to camera and m43 cameras of all mirrorless format and DSLR has the best compact size vs image quality ratio... APS-C cameras are overkill in terms of IQ and they have much bigger lens... other formats like nikon 1 and pentax Q sensors too small and not in the league to compete with DSLR in terms of IQ yet...
2) m43 is the only mirrorless format that is non-proprietary to a single body maker... this ensures competition between the OEMs and encourage lens makers to make lens for the format too... i'm firm supporter of using common standards and m43 standard is a step ahead of everybody else in terms of achieving a "common" standard... (ideally i'd love ALL major camera/lens maker to adopt to ONE common standard)
3) i favor olympus over pany cameras because olympus is traditionally camera maker along side with nikon and canon... pany is relatively newcomer to camera making... so i believe in olympus more in terms of their innovation as they have more experience in making camera/lens... plus my family have owned a number of compact zoom film cameras from olympus b4 and we loved those cameras...

hence i simply hope that olympus will shine in all their m43 cameras and lens even though i may not buy them... :)

Hear hear!!

Faster focusing and less delay- PDAF/ whatever

Especially with continuous focusing.

More user friendly menus.

Similar low light/ pixels but with higher resolution.

although i hope em6 to be bigger, i am refering to the width part to be lengthen, not the height.

Take for example, the current ep3 width length is slightly longer(about 1-2mm) than em5, which i think not suppose to be.
Since em5 has a hump, they should design it slightly wider than ep3 so the look of em5 will be more proportion.
Also, with the first of part of the grip on em5, it makes the em5 overall looks a bit square.

on the contrary, i hope the height (the bump) to be shorten.

Regarding the bump, they should actually lower the sticky up Hotshoe as shown below.

Orange = proposed reduced in size for the bump height.
