Comex CF Cards Prices?

really ? crashed ? i use sandisk but am looking at kingston due to its relatively low cost.

I've been using kingston CF cards.. had no problems at all. Not sure what problems do others experience.

Went to SLS yesterday evening and got 2 pcs of Extreme III 16GB CF at $101.90 each. Other shops selling above $149.00. Thanks coolsigg for the info. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

my experience was very slow read/write speed when using the 133X CF card (8gb). Its strange because I had been using Kingston SD cards for years without issue. Hence, now I am using Sandisk CF cards and Kingston SD cards! :bsmilie:

yeah got the same problem with kingston 8gb 133x Cf card... slow read/write speed. better to give it a miss.

I'm using Sandisk Ultra II and it's slow too. Best to get ExtremeIII.

Ya, similarly I have no negative experience with them. Given the price, $30++ for the 133x they are really quite attractive. Perhaps we were lucky.

I had a rather unpleasant encounter with this shop the other time. Saw their advert during the last PC show about an item. Missed the show so I thought I dropped by the shop one day after the show to try my luck. Instead of telling me that the price was higher as it was after the show which I would understand, they gave me another one and insisted that it was the same thing in the show. I clearly remember the look (from the brochure) and clarified with them that the item they showed me was different from that printed on the brochure they sold during the show...but they insisted....
At the end of the day, I got the item I wanted (the exact one as shown on their brochure during the PC show) at OP, at a lower price.
Perhaps it was a mis-comms between the shop and me, perhaps they were trying to ..... I don't know.

Why I spent so much time telling the story is because I find the price of this CF (both 4 and 8 GB) very if not rediculously low compared to others. I enquired from both CP and MS and their prices are higher. When challenged, MS claimed that they are selling genuine stuffs, hinting..... I don't want to speculate. If you have found that others are selling at $149, then the price I was quoted by MS which is around $120+ seems to be reasonable given MS's reputation.
