No la..459 or smth is the RRP which Canon adhere to. Shops outside retail lower to attract customers

Nah IMHO Canon put a price at 459 to make sure ppl do not get con and pay more out of the lens. Is just an pricing to ensure retailer do not charge above that amount. Imagine the number of people who blur blur pay $700-$800 if they do not know the retail price of the lens. ;p

canon hasn't been pushing the 5D for quite a while now - the exhibitions are to show the newest technology. the 5D doesn't qualify anymore.

Canon hasnt offically sold the 5D in any exhibition in the last 3 years. It is not found in the brochure however the dealers may carry 1-2 pc in the store. I saw a 1Ds sold way back in March.

If I am not wrong, last IT show some CSer were able to get the extended warranty with free lens even if they buy outside IT show.
Will this apply to COMEX also?
Can anyone verify that again?

But this time they put the word ONLY very big on top of the brochure whereas the last show they did not. And after 3-4 people asking the main hotline and at the place itself, IMHO i think only at show.

yes.. all the prices quote in comex is includ gst and can pay by credit card..

Hi, i juz sasw the audio house ad in the straits times today. 450D kit $1299, free 30L dry cabinet + 4+4GB memory card + camera bag + tripod + cleaning kit.
is this a better deal? comex have free lens if ectend warranty..but audio house have dry cabinet...

Think you answered your own question. If you already got a dry box or planning to get the extended warranty, then get from Canon and get the free 50/1.8. As mentioned above, extended warranty+free 50/1.8 may not be available outside of Comex unless someone who bought at the shops can confirm.

i told the gal at the counter that i did not buy the camera in Comex... she said can be done... anyway tonite going to bring my warranty card down and purchase the warranty... tmr i will keep everyone updated...
