canon hasn't been pushing the 5D for quite a while now - the exhibitions are to show the newest technology. the 5D doesn't qualify anymore.

If not wrong, i read somewhere, they compared a normal SD and ultra II, not much diff.

Is it worth waiting a few more weeks as 40D prices may come down further as 50D is out now? or one should get 1 at comex?

No choice. Need it 4 for a holiday trip in Oct. Buying 450d for trip too.

Comex: 1299 + 150 (Extended Warranty) + ard 150 (dry cabinet) = 1699
Shop: Ard 1150 + ard 150 (dry cabinet) = 1300

All the freebies are really not necessary to me. Can use the $400 I save for other stuff.

If I am not wrong, last IT show some CSer were able to get the extended warranty with free lens even if they buy outside IT show.
Will this apply to COMEX also?
Can anyone verify that again?

My reason for buying at comex will be only for the extended warranty with free 50/1.8. So crowded, likely cannot test. Think save the difference for Canon 18-200 IS

aiming for the 450D kit...is it worth it to also get the extended warranty for the free lens and also the 55~255mm EF-S lens? or should i just save up for some other better lens?

450D is a good deal. buy the extended warranty, but not the 55-250IS.
Get 55-250IS from other camera shops

but then i feel that i won't be using 55-200mm lens too often.
I decided to get a second hand 17-85 mm is lens instead.. one lens and for all..

anyway, i just bought my 450D body from comex just now.. got the extended warranty..
the portable hdd is NOT maxtor one.. its some ulu brand, infact can't find the brand at all.
the SD card is toshiba..
