Actually the Maxtor 160GB worth ard $90 so the rest of the stuff maybe worth abt $59 which is quite ok. Wait till the last day, maybe got final hour discount.
Me too cant decide whether to get from MS or in comex. S$150.00 diff but get more stuff . What intesert me most is the 160gb hdd.
U think is a must to get the extented warrenty?
4Gb sd, tripod, eos bag & 160Gb hdd worth the extra $149?
I seriously doubt so, even a 500GB HDD is now $99. Might as well get from MS.
The 160Gb hdd is the 2.5" portable type.. worth approx $80-90 la..
4Gb is worth abt $30-40.. tripod/eos bag dunno the brand/price/etc..
But the thing worth noting is that you can purchase extended warranty for $150 and get "free" 50mm F1.8 worth abt $100..
So if compared to MS color, inclusive of buying 50mm, you are paying abt $50 + approx $30 = $80total for extended warranty..
Worth it or not? I guess depends if you really want/need the extra 4gb mem card, 160Gb ext hdd and the tripod la..
I'm on the way there now actually, anyone going as well? gimme ur contact via PM? maybe buy together for more freebies.. aha..
Personally I want the extra 4gb mem card as this will be my 1st SLR, but the 160Gb hdd maybe I wanna sell off lor..

how does retail shop extended warranty works? any problem has to goes back to shop or can visit canon service centre.
True la may so call free stuff i also have liao. tripod , bag etc actually most of us will have . Is M S provide extented warranty too
Wasn't it $120 for the lens. Wow, $30 for warranty.

Hmmm the RSP of $1299 incl installment payment. $1150 + 3.5% = $1190. So the difference may be only approx. $100. Did anyone go down and ask whether they can pay by cash? This time around the dealer is Alan Photo so I do believe they are quite flexible. I ever did got a cash quote for my Ixus camera in Comex 2005 shows ago and the dealer was Alan Photo. I still have the receipt in box ;p
Maybe to help clarify some issue posted, the price of warranty taken from Canon Website are as follows:
EOS 1000D / 450D
A (Within 14 days from date of purchase) $150
B (More than 1 month before warranty expires) $180
EOS 40D
A (Within 14 days from date of purchase) $250
B (More than 1 month before warranty expires) $280
The extended warranty is for another two years. Therefore the total warranty for the camera will be: 1 yr + 3 mth (register online) + 3 mth (buy warranty at comex) + 2yr (extended warranty) =
3 yr and 6 mth of warranty + a free EF 50mm F1.8
And according to some post here, the free lens promotion when purchase with extended warranty is only valid for DSLR purchase at Comex 08. Anyone can confirm this?

Yes.. The free 50mm F/1.8 is exclusive to COMEX.. according to the person who processed my warranty.
