comex a33 got problem, SONG Brothers refuse exchange!!!


If I am not wrong, most shops will usually honour a 1-to-1 exchange within 7 days... anyway, you need to ask the more experienced salespeople at the IT fairs... usually I will ask the salesperson who attends to me... and I will question them closely... and if they are uncertain, I will get them to ask their boss... and then I will also ask another salesperson from the same booth and verify the info... and if there is a discrepancy I'll highlight it and get them to resolve it. If the resolution of the discrepancy in info is iffy, then I'll just pass... in any case, I usually prefer to go straight back to the manufacturer's service centre, at least the techs there know what is going as opposed to the salespeople who usually don't know anything, even at SLS... only the pro shops people know a little bit but even then, they won't know as much as a regular user of the brand... it's better to consult the forums and read up issues on the net and make your own conclusions most of the time... I mean there are thousands of models in any camera shop, you can hardly expect the salespeople to know everything to the last detail... so do your homework.

Yes, most honorable shops do 1-1 exchange. When I bought my 50mm, I found that the rubber seal on the lens is not perfect only when I reached home. I called the shop to tell them the issue, they asked me to go down to the shop and will exchange 1 for me.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::)
 

why sony let such a shop with a bad reputation handle their sales at comex.... cant beleieve... its a disgrace for sony.

At every show, every brand will let different retailers handle their sales. You dont see ABC doing XXX sales all the time because other retailers will want to have a chance is selling the brand at a big show like this.
What i know is, retailers will take turns doing the shows with the brands. Just happens this time SB is doing Sony.
Anyway everytime after a show, there are bound to have such things happening. Shows are not really a good place for camera purchase i guess:dunno:
If nothing works, there's always CASE who are a phone call away
 

Bro, my advice keep away from all Camera shops in Sim Lim SQ.

Sorry, bro but I dun exactly agree with this cos I worked in repair service center b4. I wont reveal much but sometimes "wat u get back after repair isn't exactly yours" . Better to do 1-to-1 exchange during 7 days period or else u could b visiting the service center on n off for the whole year if u r unlucky. Actually for the shops, all they have to do is exchange a new set for ur faulty one and send it back to the brand salesman(in this case, SONY) to get another working set. Its like you exchange with them and they exchange again with brand wholesaler. Its usually a case of laziness tt they refuse to do the exchange for you.

Sony sure will honor the warranty, but if possible I'll pursue 1-1 exchange.
But this ignorance of seller sometimes really boil us. I even experience a shopkeeper who verbally asks me not to disturb him after I finished the payment; JUST only I finished the payment, his attitude change. And yes, in SLS also.

Anyway, I think there is a cool-down period of 14 days for everyone, just go to CASE and file report against them to get a refund, this might also revoke them of their STAR award.

That should make them not able to represent reputable brands in future.

sorry, MS color same pattern by the way... I bought panny LX3 from them n after tt batt gt prob...went back abt a wk latter....also refuse to exchange. during sales, service was 100% but after sales, service is 0%. Safest prob is buy from Sony Style.....think they cant reject exchange if any prob w e cam
Check the warranty terms and conditions. Batteries might be excluded from any exchange since it's considered 'consumable' by certain companies and for certain devices. Then not even Sony Style will help you, maybe they just explain it more in detail. The case that TS describes doesn't look like battery failure.

Don't need to go to CASE, they won't help if you are not paying them. Even before they move their backside, they want to see $$ from you. And it won't end there still...

Anyway, you should go back to Sony service centre to claim the warrenty. Even if not 1-to-1 exchange, at least they will fix it for you. No experience with Sony service, but surely a good after-sale support is why I always support Canon.:)

I reckon these guys are living off others' one-off purchase, tourist stuff. For us local, well we should do ourselves a flavour by getting our gears from reputable stores. Price maybe higher, but only by abit la. This premium is for 'insurance' that if anything wrong within 7 days, we can be sure that seller will gladly exchange 1-to-1 without question, nor even black face. :D

Will only purchase from the few shops that are known to be reliable and honorable. Whenever my friends say they will wait for IT / Comex fair to buy camera, I will laugh and say for what?

Hi Fatfish, are you one of the competitor working in SIM LIM SQUARE that is against SONG Brother's as from what i know most of the ppl here does not know what does STAR stand for.

Im sure there is no such thing as it is safe to buy from reputable shops. No matter how good a reputable shop can perform, there is bound to have some complain against them.

Yes, something i do laugh at ppl who wanted to wait for IT/ Comex fair to buy camera as the only different is that there is more free gifts given in the show. But when u do the calculation with the cost of free gifts given in the Fair. It is actually more worth buying from the Fair.

And how do u differentiate shops that are reliable and honorable. Are you able to confirm to everyone that they have never receive any complains from customers side.
