hi

should be in consumr corner, but put hre bcosalso want to discuss the problem of the a33 itself not just the shop.

my a33 intermittently, like 5-6 times a day failed to start up, the evf turn on, lens moves, but fail to display anything, just total backlit black screen. have to take out n in battery to be able to operate again.

wheb purchasing, song brothers staff at cmex said 7 days 1 to 1 exchange if any problem other than external damage is there. she said just go t sim lim song brothers.

got to sim lim square SONG BROTHERS today, to found that the staff there said there is NO SUCH EXCHANGEPOLICY! and he said NO STOCK anyway, he also refused to show me the display sets, he said all displays are DUMMY UNITS.

then he told m to go to wismaatria.

what a service! can anyone confirm? he said that a33 is out of stock islandwide, and will no stock at all until mid october. and he said the stick at comex yestrday is exclusive to comex. i myself saw stocks at challenger.... dont understand why he would lie like that...

never like song brothers! ah beng shop!

i was looking for a IR remote yesterday... AP quote me a 3rd party one costing $15.. but this good brother of Song quoted me the same thing for $29... i might as well get the original Canon one for $28.. crazy!

Theres always a reason why we always go to the same old shops for their reliability..

I didn't have the problem you described from my 2 days of usage. Switch on off for > 30 times.
Did you change the setting for live view and EVF toggle to manual where u have to toggle between them instead of default auto?

If not the above,
If you can recreate the intermittent problem, try taking out the memory card and try again. If it disappear. Maybe is the memory card fault.
when the cam boot up, i think the card is scanned. perhaps a faulty card will cause it to 'hang'.
If this is the problem, reformatting the card might help solve

I have this problem for other products

I think u need to bring back to wisma to check nd make a formal complain ba . A33 stock could be limited given the past experiences from nex etc .

Anyway I think a lot have been said and warned about buying from some stores and comex le.

Ah yes, but Sony camera sales at Comex were handled by Song Brothers. (*(*!&*&~!

I was sooooooo reluctant to pay for my 550.

you may go straight to SONY WISMA with your warranty card, receipt, and the purchased item.;)

they said the retailers should do the xchange.

why sony let such a shop with a bad reputation handle their sales at comex.... cant beleieve... its a disgrace for sony.

Singsong Brothers... anything else to say? The trustworthy shop in Sim Lim is OP, 6th floor. For Sony, talk to MS Color in AMK.

sorry, MS color same pattern by the way... I bought panny LX3 from them n after tt batt gt prob...went back abt a wk latter....also refuse to exchange. during sales, service was 100% but after sales, service is 0%. Safest prob is buy from Sony Style.....think they cant reject exchange if any prob w e cam

very disappointed with sony, why they allow a con shop to handle the sales at such a big event like comex.

bad for sony reputation

I believe the after-service has to come with the warranty...is it the in-house or original brand's warranty? It does makes a difference.

BUT since the sales did mentioned that there is a 7 days exchange, they should honour their words. Normally IT fairs will hire part-timers which do not have much knowledge of the products and sales policy, so they will just speak to clinch a deal and get their commission. Just have to be careful.

Then you should be disappointed with all camera brands . Dissappointed with the show organizers . Song bros carry other brands also and they are quite sizable in Singapore so of course they are financially sound to get the dealership.

I can understand your frustrations la but you don't have to worry since you got warranty

Nothing new about Song brothers. Their reputation precedes them. And they don't care either, whether their reputation is good or bad.

Yes!!! i was really surprise that Sony let Song brothers to handle their sales.
But i think Sony is not the only one, other big brands as well as i came across Song brothers from previous IT fairs. :thumbsd: to Song Brothers!

This is one more reason why people should not be buying camera stuff from the computer shows. Stuff selling at near RRP, useless freebies and lousy vendor that you have no control over which to patronize.

The more I read, the more I'll boycott any IT shows. Last one was like 13 years ago at WTC.

Now got at least 4 a year. Their reputation really drop.

I treat our local IT Show like IT PASAR MALAM.

I wonder why thousands throng these shows expecting good deals. Never learn lesson from others.

Especially for cameras, go buy at CP, MSC or Sonystyle (Sony brand).

If die,die cannot resist ;p then at least do your homework and shortlist of items to buy. If I'm the TS, I'll skip Song Bros or AP even if they sell super cheap.

I think in the end, it comes down to who are willing to front the money for the rental of the booths during the IT shows. Established 'reputable' stores have enough business that they do not need to pay extra to run a booth at IT shows.

After bought from SONG brothers, buyers become BUAY SONG already.
