Nope. The actual package is :
E-510 Kit + 40-150mm + 2Gb + Bag + Workshop + 1 Year Warranty.

When companies change owners and change names they have been known to void all extended warranties.

I heard a first-hand account that the Pertama warranties were not valid when they "closed down" :thumbsd:
Anyways as long as they are around, it is okay...
In some cases it is cheaper to buy their in-house warranties. e.g. Their Apple computers in-house extended warranty is cheaper then AppleCare but you have to read the Ts & Cs to see what is covered.
Actually they did. You either get the longer warranty or the second kit lens minus one 2GB card, bag, and tripod.

I think it is a damn good deal. Those who want a E510 should go get it at the show.
BTW, a little OT, but the 40D package is $2899, with the USM lens or something. With that kind of money, you can actually buy TWO E510 dual lens package.

Is this e510 good for wedding shots ? My sis is getting married at the end of the year and sponsoring some $$$ for the camera. Although she has a photographer to cover the whole event, she expect me to take some also.
Of course. But to be effective, you're going to need a powerful flash, an external battery pack for the flash and nice bright wide-angle lenses... perhaps she's willing to sponsor part of that as well... ;p
Dont need the 40D or the IS USM lens. Just need the E510 IS and the award winning E1 kit lens 14-54mm. Done for the day. Guaranteed a good choice. :thumbsup:

What lens is good ? I'm getting the E510 dual lens package which consist of the 14-42mm and the 40-150mm. Is that enough ?
Is the FL 36 good enough or any other flash to rec ?
Do i need the battery grip ? i saw it today at the Comex.

I got myself a 510 today. The salesman give me the followings-
$1399 - e510 + dual lens, 2x 1g xd card, 1x 2g cf card, screen protective film, slr bag, stein zeiser tripod, 1 year warranty and workshop.
paid another $ 152 got 2 year extended warranty + 2x steinzeiser uv filter and 1x cpl filter.
do you guys think its worth for the whole package? this is the first time buying slr camera . :dunno:

I think who had bought the E510 before the comex promotion (just like me) will think its a good deal !!!! I bought at 1499.00 no extra lens but give dry cab and other similiar stuffs.

Which salesman did you get ? i went just now and the salesman only offer me $1399 with dual lens, 1 piece of 2gb cf card, bag and workshop. Never offer me protective film and tripod lehz..

Didn't really know his name. I just look out for those senior like salesman and tell him I am interested in buying one and ask him what he can give beside the normal freebies. At first, he offer me extra 2x 1g xd card but I told him that i will buy on the spot if he throw in the protective film and tripod which he did
The salesmen there are basically competing each other for the commission. So, take you time to look out for the best salesman to give the best offer.:thumbsup:
