Colorful Yunnan- ,

i like these 2 out of all.

the second one would work very well in bnw, if you ask me. :) nice shots!

Thanks, the second one I tried to capture the color of the land, but it was too foggy at that time, maybe bnw will be better.

Beautiful pictures. Well done, Congratulations.

Beautiful.

Looking at both yours and oeyvind's pictures, reminds me of the wonderful time I had there, and convinces me to return once again.

nice play with colours! just like postcards! :)

yes, this is first bend of Changjiang at 石鼓镇.I saw your thread as well, the 2nd part of my journey quite similar with yours, we went to Meili and Yubeng as well :).

U meant 金沙江 (it's called Jinshajiang before it hits the plain of Sichuan)... looking at the map again, now I understand. The turn at 石鼓 is one that changes the course of the flow from south-bound to north-bound.

Nice series of pix.

Nice series of pix.

We are talking about the same river, upper Changjiang (金沙江), 金沙江第一弯 is the first bend located at 奔子栏, it is Ω shape and the river doesn't change the direction even after the bend, as the pic showed below,

长江第一湾, located at 石鼓镇 near Lijiang, the river make a sudden V shape bend and change the direction from South to North East. This amazing V turn, remains 金沙江 as Island river and eventually become the main stream of Changjiang, otherwise, 金沙江 will flow through Yunnan to Myanmar. That's why this bend has significant meaning for China, and somebody likes to call 金沙江 as "Patriotic River".

I still can remember the name for those mountains, (from lef to right) named 神女峰, 五冠峰, 将军峰, and 卡瓦格博峰 the highest peak of Meili.

By end of May, flows are blooming, no wonder Meili has been ranked as one of the most beautiful mountains in China.
