Coffee table print

Has any one seen "Let There Be Light" ? They shoot and produce printed photo books. I like it that they don't use heavy glossy paper. Instead, it's a kind of acid free paper - think it's about 150gsm or something like that. I love the prints and the feel. does anyone know how they do it? it's very nicely bounded with linen hardcover. i'm very interested to acquire a print out thats the same as theirs. can help? thanks!

The paper is probably a special uncoated fancy paper, about 160GSM, very tough to print and in getting the color balance with the light beige coloured texture. Looks great with skin tone? "Let There Be Light" specialised in Wedding, you can get them to shoot and produce it for you.

Tough question, you've to know your stuff. Design, layout and specifications of the production. I'm just assuming the specs of your requirement without looking at the book details, we may have printed the book.

We’ve been getting a lot of enquiries from consumers; we’ve to kindly turned them away. I’ve my fair share of scolding and pleading too. We’re a B2B print set-up, almost all the high-end printing company focus on trade professionals and not end-users.

There is also low cost software like Photomix, around $59. Save finished artwork into pdf, psd or jpeg. In our trade we say, “print ready files”. It’s no good if it can’t be opened or printed right?

The price is S$49 for retail (CD with Case). You can save the design in Tiff, Jpeg, BMP and PSD (Photoshop file format). It does not save in PDF file direct. Very easy to use, drag and drop.

My kids are trained in school on Photomix applications for cards making, newsletter and book creation, etc. Are you the trainer? Do you provide hands-on training for adult or amateurs? There is a need for this service, and I believe it would be rewarding.

At S$49, it will definitely have a market. I can foresee hundreds from clubsnap alone. Can you imagine how many photographers out there are dying to have a coffeetable book on their travel or a portfolio of their own showcasing their own styles, specialties and images? The possibilities are limitless.

Pls create a link to showcase your samples and work. Maybe it's better to start a new thread for your product offerings.

Thanks for the welcome message. Have no chance to post last week, been conducting training for a group of teachers and went to Malaysia after that. Don't worry about the misquote. Lucky the actual price is lower.

We did lots of training in schools with this software. Some time I do go down and give training, you can asked your kid is the trainer Mr. Peng? At present moment we conduct training in Primary, Secondary, ITE, Clubs, Unions etc. I think it will be good time to look into a class specific for using Photomix to make Coffee Table Book. Depend on the demand. As for the printing aspect, I will need to invite you to come and talk

Students normally use the software to create collage or scrapbook. Some really creative and innovative, we have students as young as 9 yrs old. I am hatching the idea of conducting a talk with live demo on the Photomix so interested user can get a closer look at it. Got to look for a suitable place first.

If a Primary school kid can do it with Photomix, most of the members here should not have any problem.

Talk is easy; it also depends on the subject. I’m a boring technical old man. I suspect that the need for understanding “printing aspect” is minimum; it’s the touch and feel of a printed product that’s important and interesting. The final objective would be a printed coffeetable book or a portfolio. I felt its the “issue with colors” that’s confusing, nothing to do with your software, Photomix, but a decisive matter in the ability to produce a good book or work.

Ning is my professor, so die-die must print for him. He’s very proud of his book, even thinking of publishing his works. He would have a lot of students to support him.
