Hi,

I am thinking of buying the Nikon AF 50 mm f/1.8 from CMK electrical store, HK. The price is quite lucrative (new one at 680 HK$ ~ 135 SGD). Any particular issues that I should take note of?

Cheers,

Maddy

Well, most importantly there's a valid warranty card with the same serial no.

and also printed receipt. not those hand written ones as NSC may not honour them.

CMK is good, I bought some stuff from the CMK at APM Mall. Good service and the staff is very patient as well, let me inspect the item carefully and even brought out a few other pieces when I wasn't satisfied with the one that was initially brought out.

nah... this rumour is a crap started by the skyenut. u actually believe the nut? :bsmilie:

maybe u and skyenut should follow me to nikon service centre 3 days ago, where i use a hand written warranty to send my camera for repair :bsmilie:

handwritten if local dealers is ok but oversea they might ask for printed receipt.

lost you a bit here? Care to elaborate plz

on every lens, there is a serial number on it. And for the warranty card, they stamped the lens serial number on it.

So wat u do is to make sure that the serial number on the warranty card is the same as the lens serial number. The warranty card is yellow colour. Dun mistake the grey warranty instructions as the manual. The grey instruction warranty instruction manual only explains wat is the warranty coverage, but the yellow warranty card is the actual thing that is required for warranty claims.

Thanks you all. Great place to ask questions as people make an effort to make a newbie like me understand
