any of you guys/gals going to the phillip island motor gp?

For the benefit of those who don't know, the Motor Grand Prix is held at Philip Island sometime early October. If you like fast bikes, this is the event to go. Just like the Formula One Grand Prix, where there are fast and mean machines with macho drivers, there will be shameless Caucasian women who are not wearing much (if you know what I mean). Bikes or women, they are all part of the show.

Although very far away, it draws very large crowds that cause traffic jams significant enough to delay you by a couple of hours when you return to Melbourne (according to my boss who has been there more than once).

I don't know/remember the dates... perhaps lmk61 could provide the details.

As best as I know, gogoltha and I were discussing about it but we are now lukewarm.

If you are driving, i'm sure we won't mind going......we both are carless..........;)

the dates are from Fri 12 - Sun 14 Oct 2007
ticketing info can be found here

Thanks jiven for dropping by to peep.

It takes some effort to keep this going although admittedly response is far from hot. It's a little disappointing.

Hi, yea, i'm thinking of going to the finals as well. Where r u staying? I'm in Carlton.

Golgotha, i am near Dandenong area.

Maybe we can meetup at some train station and i can pick you guys up.
Should be a fun day with capacity crowd since aussie Casey Stoner won the Championship.

Many thanks to Jemapela for starting the thread.
Don't be dishearten with how the gg is going.
Let's just keep this thread alive and make the most out of it. Its a great way to keep us CSer together over here.

Alright, how Jem? Wanna go? Le't shoot some shameless women as well. ;)

Hi just checking with you guys, can someone tell me which is the biggest, or the best stocked photography equipment store in Melbourne? Something similar to our Cathay Photo Store or equivalent.

most of the camera shops are along Elizabeth St.

I think michaels might fit the bill but you will find that stuff in SG is cheaper.
Here are links to some of the more prominent shops

http://www.teds.com.au/

You can find the exact address in their website.

That would be Michaels Camera Store.

:bsmilie: i have to see this with my own eyes man...

I have already seen them... in photos my boss shot in previous years. They are the same kind as you would see in most other high-speed races such as F1 Grand Prix.
