Sir Alex Ferguson has questioned whether Liverpool have the nerve to win the title.

Having failed to win the league title since 1990, Pool are three points clear of Chelsea with Ferguson's Manchester United a further four points adrift - albeit with two games in hand.

The Scot has now attempted to increase the pressure Liverpool by predicting they will be beset by nerves befor the season ends in May.

"There's no doubt that in the second half of the season they will get nervous," Ferguson declared.

"With the experience we've got, having won a couple of titles in the past couple of years especially, it helps you. There's no doubt about that.

"They're going into the unknown, and if you make mistakes, then you get punished."
