Dont worry about it bro, i cant recall the exact number but it's very very fast. Somewhere in the region of 1/10,000 if i remember correctly.

I believe there is flash sync speed limit on cameras is becoz of TTL. But dont quote me, just my assumption.

It's easy to do a test. Just shoot in absolute darkness with various shutter speeds and see if there is any difference. It's important to be absolutely dark overwise ambient light will affect the shots.
Flash sync speed limitation is because at higher shutter speeds, the 2nd curtain starts to close before first curtain is fully open. The flash is only triggered when the first curtain is fully open, but then the 2nd curtain has already closed, which is why you get a black shadow. For DSLRs with electronic shutter, at higher speeds, the CCD just deactivates before the 2nd curtain closes, so effectively, the maximum shutter for the mechanical shutter is just the sync speed, so the 2nd curtain will not close early, the shorter exposure time is governed by the electronic shutter, so the sync speed for these models are in fact possible for all speeds, but it is usually limited to 1/500s because a full power flash duration can be as long as 1/600s.

arg! so, first i need sb800, then sb600/sb800? damn! If i had known that earlier, I would have gone for a D70+ with the commander mode!

say, D70(or higher) in commander mode + sb600 provide 2 light sources?

Used with the D70/s, a single SB600 will give you only 1 light source.
The on-board flash on the D70/s will provide a trigger, but not illumination.

With a D200, you will effectively have 2 light sources, as its on-board flash will trigger, as well as illuminate.

the built in flash of the D70s also can act as a source of lumination and commander.
Hence, same as the D200. ;)

No, twiki is correct. The D70/D70s built-in flash when it acts as commander does not contribute to the exposure.
