Class 4 or Class 6 SDHC

Dear friends,

Does it make a difference whether we are using a Class 4 or Class 6 SDHC now that we have HD video function on the D90 and D5k? And by the way, if we use a Class 4 SDHC, can we hit 4.5fps?

I believe it will slow down eventually if use class 4. :dunno:

The camera has a buffer to store the picture before it writes into the memory card, so you can still meet the 4.5fps. Using the class 6 will of course help because you can clear up the buffer faster...

i used class 4 with my D90 .
tried using the video once.
no problem recording .

but use dslr to take video =/

The following SD memory cards have been approved for use in the D90 digital SLR. All cards of the designated make and capacity can be used, regardless of speed.

SanDisk: 512MB, 1GB, 2GB1, 4GB2 , 8GB2
Panasonic: 512MB, 1GB, 2GB1, 4GB2 , 8GB2, 32GB2

Toshiba: 512MB, 1GB, 2GB1, 4GB2 , 8GB2, 32GB2
Lexar Media : 512 MB, 1 GB
Platinum II series: 512 MB, 1 GB, 2GB2, 4GB2
Professional series: 1 GB, 2 GB1, 4GB2


All SD memory cards indicated above can be used regardless of their transfer speed.

1 If the memory card will be used with a card reader or other device, the device must support 2GB SD memory cards.
2 SDHC-compliant.

Other brands and capacities of cards may work, but Nikon cannot guarantee their operation. Check with the manufacturer of the third-party card for compatibility information. Nikon recommends keeping one of the approved cards available for troubleshooting.

The question is not abt whether it can be used or not. All of them work as mentioned. The question is whether can they all achieve the rate of 4.5 fps.
