Thank for positive comment. I'm not expect got firework, this is becoz that day Chinatown having first day open ceremony for Tiger year cny.

I only using 18-55MM standard lens. Yes, if using wider lens will be more better.
Will consider about it.

I had try before using panorama but when combine the photo the color become not same. Any good technique taking panorama picture?

wow nice pic..
anyway for pic 4 & 5 u use any filter? coz i like the pic with the still water and reflections is on it
how to take such shots?

Hi Joyeo,

Thank for viewing. No filter apply only 18-55mm lens
# 4 - f20, 25s long exposure & iso100
# 5 - f18, 30s long exposure & iso100
Beside the above setting, when using tripod remm to switch off the stabilizer on the lens to make the pic more clear & sharpe. Try to set your own user define canon picture style with sharpness +7, contrast +1 & saturation + 2. (Personal taste). W/B set to daylight.

Hope this help.

I still in learning. Maybe other senior here can suggest better technique. :)

Might be good idea to crop off the hotel building on the right corner of picture one

Should have went to clarke quay instead of waiting at chinatown for the fireworks (sigh)..

Agree with TS on previous comment. Personally, I set my camera to higher f number at very slow shutter speed (long exposure) to get these kind of photos.

Ya, i also went to Chinatown. I also taken a few photo @ Chinatown. You may go to my Album to enjoy viewing. I didn't wait the firework in Chinatown, too crowded & no place for me to setup the tripod. So moved to Clarke Quay to take some night view. Who know from the angle I taken can see the firework from Chinatown. Just feel very lucky. :)

thanks for sharing
definitely helps :) will go down again to try it out :) :)

you are getting quite a bit of flaring and ghosting that i see.

did not take out uv filter when shooting?

i am going to beg to differ here, the compositions tend to be a bit haphazard and messy.

but nice exposure, it is spot on most of the time.

i think i was sitting somewhere near u at CQ hahaa

Hi night86mare,

Thank for the comment. Very appreciate. Actually I wish to ask why my photo appear flaring purple color. I had taken out the UV filter. No idea why. Any other possibility like spot light reflection from the cylling Clarke Quay?

Compositions is the difficult things to learn. Need to take more photo and browse more magazine to capture the correct angle and let ppl know the story inside the photo. I will more concentrate on the compostion area . :)

hrm, yes, then that would be because of pure light source then, if you keep that angle, nothing you can do. :)

I took a few photo from different angle. Some angle didn't show the flaring.
I got 1 photo look weird, the flaring is come from the black sky like "UFO light" !!
I will post the photo tonight.. togather analyst ;)

Below is the photo look like UFO light... i also don why where the light from?

very clear pictures and nice exposure. I like the first one with the fireworks and a wider lens will get more details in your photos!
