Anyone has a rough idea of a good price for the Hoya 52mm HMC Circular Polariser ? Please recommend alternatives too :D

Thanks.

Hmm, bought the Hoya 52mm Standard CIR-PL from CP at $35.
Tokina was $23 though. Wonder if its worth the extra $13, or was I conned? :dunno:

$23 ?! how come there's such a great price difference ? it's almost 1.5 times cheaper than the Hoya one..

is it really a bad lens ?

bought my 67mm one at 49$. hmm.. if i'm not wrong the HMC series is much more ex.

Actually, I have absolutely no idea why the huge price difference. The Hoya CIR-PL is made by Tokina, as printed on the case, and the guy at CP said there is no difference in quality between the two. But the Hoya "looks" and "feels" to be of higher quality, so I got the Hoya instead.

Hoya HMC should be at least >$50 I think, but they only had the B+W which they said was much more expensive so I didn't ask for the price.

yeah. i've seen them selling the super HMC polariser cum UV and the ring's real thin, like 3 or 4mm compared to the usual 5mm.............. guess what, it costs over a hundred.

Fwaah.. expensive indeed, to a newbie like me at least. It's probably more useful for the experts. I'd save that kinda money for my audio gears .. :D
