yesterday I just learn something new, from a biologist hor. apparently for some livebearers such as platies (or mollies, I couldn't remember), the males just have to rubba the female, and that will trigger ovulation and which can mature into fries, without having any sperm from the male injected! of course the babies are all clones of the mommy lah.

U sure? can mature to fries meh? dunno :dunno:
but i did read that the one time sperm injection to the female guppy can last her for a few mths and also enought to fertilise a few batches of eggs... ;p

yes it is a slime that the parent exudes on the skin. can't remember if it is nutritious but I assume it is. sucker catfishes sometimes also take the opportunity to suck on the discus which stresses them.

the person is a trained biologist and this is a specific topic in one of his course module. I know with whom and when I should argue, and when I just accept.
