Both these pictures are good in saying a lot more than just what is immediately captured. However, they don't seems to "jump out" too much. Jumping out as in captured your immediate attention to relook at it. I really don't know whether it's me or is it your post-processing, but the colours are distracting in both cases.
In the first pic, the bright red shirt, with the green street sign and relative white background, seems to taken more attention away from the scene, which is supposed to be the main attraction point in the first place. In the second pic, the white t-shirts and blouse again form too contrasty a colouration with the shady right hand side of the image.
I could be wrong of course in knowing what you want to portray. Perhaps you wanted to make it contrasty to purposely make it look more subtle thant he picture really is. Perhaps it's just me, not able to perceive colour so well, after dedicating almost virtually to black and white these days. Or perhaps there could be some other reasons.
Anyway, these are superb pictures nonetheless. Definitely worthy to take another look at the meaning/story behind the scene.
