chinese physician

I felt so much pain in the spine since last week. I've gone to a GP but did not feel any improvement. Now I want to try the Chinese physician. Could you please recommend me a good chinese physician that has expertise in the spine? Thank you for your help.

I also have a back problem back in the past.
I went to see the GP many times and the doc told me it's better to go for an X-ray and see the specialist.

I then found out I have a slip disc..

My advice is that you go for an X-ray to check on your condition 1st.

I went to Sinseh near my place yesterday. He is quite good.
Immediately he knows that the problem is on the sleep disc and he give special massage on that area. Surprisingly my back pain is now recovered.
He also recommends me to see the specialist and go for an X-Ray if the pain still persists.

i like this one. my fav doctor, from where we used to call it diu do peng in hokkien, now works there as a volunteer doctor. from young eat hsi medicine till i grow up oen haha

How do you climb wall without ladder? ...
Anyway how much you are being charged and also how long is the consultation?
I had prolong back pain since secondary school time coz i jump down from level 2 in one of the activities so - young time too active, old time will regret! :cry:

Anyway i had tried different sinsehs + tui na but either too costly or too inconvenient to go.... so .... hmmm if your this one is not too bad, i might consider dropping by.

..... Anyway, next time use ladder hor ... ain't spiderman ah!

Err... well, if I have a ladder with me, then I don't think I will get the problem loh ;P It's a low wall and I over estimated my flexibility ;D

I think I paid around $80 or so. Definitely less than $100. The consultation lasted about 1/2 or so. I didn't get a good feel at first about the place. Cos when it started, I was asked about how I got the injury and then one of the guys just but a vibrating device across my shoulder and left me there for 10mins. I tot it will be one of those pian jia joints. But after that, the sinsei came, she was quite young, think 30s. But she really knew what she was doing. Some acupuncture to the shoulder blade to loosen the muscles so that it will not be so painful when she shoved it back and I can really feel the difference before and after instantly. The pain really disappeared and the sore, a few days after.

My friend who recommended there had his back problem finally fixed after 2 years of treatment, and his daughter's curved spine as well. You know back problems are not so easily treated and usually will become chronic issues that have to be lived with.

I like it there also because, for me, it's not one of those places that will ask you to go back for sessions of treatments.

I went to this Chinese Sinsei at Katong Roxy Square. It's the building beside Katong Shopping Centre. It's called Annie Tiang (note on the spelling of the surname, I may have gotten it wrong, but it's something like that). It's located on the ground lvl, on the outside of the bldg, on the right hand side if you are facing the facade, along the small side road.

I 'shifted' my left shoulder when trying to climb up a wall without a ladder and they managed to fix it back with some acupunture and a good shove. Excellent work all done in a session and I never gone back since, which also explains why I cannot remember the correct spelling ;D

Went for this sinseh as well when I tore my shoulder ligament during snowboarding. I couldn't raise my left arm at all but they manage to fix it after a couple of treatment. Very popular place though so may have to wait a while

my uncle just happens to have a masters in TCM and does something called tuina and chinese acupuncture.. at a medicine hall at serangoon you guys can always PM me if you need some good ole TCM

if you have some $$$ to spend, try going to polyclinic for an x-ray of your back especially the more sensitive areas.

at the most if nothing is wrong, makes a nice room wall decoration.

Xray does not show anything. U may have to go for MRI. Get Poly clinic doc to recommend else very expensive if you go for private rate but faster!

I believe only chiropractor in any pain diseases.I have suffered.I went to XXX Chiropractor They are perfect chiropractor and they returned my life back.

Whenever I go to my sinseh, I can hear people screaming in pain as she works on them. She is very effective though.

Maybe it's just me, I'll make sure I get my injury checked out by the scans (x-ray, MRI etc), just to be sure there's nothing broken or seriously misaligned in there before going to the chinese sinseh for the needling, "tui na" etc.

For me, it will depend on the injury. X-rays can only tell whether there is fracture or not, and MRI scans are $$$. The better sinsehs will be able to diagnose the majority of alignment problems. But even if I go for scan, I will bring it to the sinseh/chiro, not to normal doctor.

Of course, you should know when to go to sinseh, and when to go A&E

Yup, guess sometimes there's the fine line of a "self-diagnosis" to decide which avenue for treatment to go to. For example, I've been having knee pain and subsequently back pain. Went to polyclinic, got referral to an orthopedic specialist in the hospital. Had a knee arthroscopy, and MRI for the back and found some disc problem. Yah, major $ went/going/gone to the hospitals.. :sweat:

Well, I'm looking at going to the sinseh for "long standing" pain management issues as the docs at the hospitals seems to be medicine-dispensing-happy on these.

Of course I've my really fair bit share of sprains, those straight forward ones, it's the chinese docs, but once I thought it was a sprain, turn out to be a hairline fracture (thankfully I went to get an x-ray prior running to a chinese sinseh).
