I show my parents/sis the posing photos...she commented..
"you sure anot?!! got people like tat pose and take photo one meh" :dunno:

what do you mean? they are saying the photos are fake?
they are all posing normally mah, don't see anything out of the ordinary..

and they are smiling.. i don't understand how they can see this as something to smile about.. what are they thinking?

I've given you clues. If you do not think they matter in a hostage situation, then I rest my case.

FYI, he's referring to SIA Flight 117. .

:Later,

Oh please. From the footages of the way the Phi police handles the situation doesn't matter if it is M16 or not.

LOL. Obviously you dont get it. Let me make it clear then. It was pointless for you to have raised it up for comparison in the first place.

:Later,

I did not make the comparison. YOU did!

LOL. And I thought you asked:
What's the difference between a terrorist and a bemedalled police officer holding whatever weapon that kills innocent ppl?

But you're right, that portion of my post was meant for Limsgp. :bsmilie:

:Later,

Hi cs tan,
after showing my mama this thread, she send her regards to you, as well as the hk people n families of the victim.
She borrow a quote from tvb drama 溏心風暴之家好月圓 that she hope will motivate you, as well as the hk people n families of the victim.......that is 人在做天在看. So......

Aiyo, don't quarrel lah, Pinoy. If you are sensitive over some issues being discussed here, I suggest you to leave this thread, i'll be glad that you'll feel peace. :)

Peace peace peace! :)

LOL. No intention to quarel at all. I think it was all pretty much a civilized discussion in the beginning.. but probably denigrated into something else after some "act smart/proud" posts popped up. :)

Pinoy,

I'm going alittle out of topic here. What is ":Later,"? I noticed you write this every post. Later is your name?

It is indeed, we shld not point our finger at the rest of the nation.

But please do take a look at photos where filipinos posing and smiling happily, with the background, a blood stained bus, that fills with sorrows and anger.

This shows how insensible they are!

Maybe Mr president has step out and explain with regards to his expression.

But his citizens/civil servants, out there taking photos, as if its a proud national event!

Correct me if I'm wrong. Werent the hijackers of SQ117 armed with butterknives?

The hijackers, 4 of them, were not standing in clear view of the snipers either. The assault team have to shoot them from INSIDE the plane, which means they have to gain entry into a PLANE first. butterknives can kill too.. no? But no one was killed.

Compare this to the BUS, with the ONE hijacker in clear view of snipers..M16 don't know pointing where on many occasions(not on hostage), hijacker provoked.. assault team having difficulty entering a BUS, then kena chased out, smoke canister thrown, cannot see what's inside etc..

I'll just summarise my opinions as compared to yours

You said, the act of one person's crime resulted in the insult to a whole nation. (and thus, is not fair)

I said, it is the act of one police force, one govt, one group of people, and maybe other factors, that resulted in the insult at a whole nation.

Your comment seems to imply that, If this person had not acted in the way he did, the nation would not have been insulted. (really? you believe so?)

My comment suggest that, if the police, govt, groups had handled the situation better, the nation would not have been insulted. (Even if this person acted as such, if appropriate actions have been taken and executed, the nation would not be insulted. Instead, they could be praised for effective measures )

No one can predict if a terrorist might appear in their country and do something drastic. It is the damage control and the way the situation was handled that matters.

So, I say, if the pple's focus is that it is "one person's doing" issue, and there is NOTHING wrong with the police, the govt, the group of pple taking pictures (and so it is not fair for the insult on them), Then, what can others expect of them to give a satisfactory answer to the HK pple?

Let the rest of the pple judge if it is one person's doing resulting in the insult of the nation or many parties' (components of a nation, including govt, police) "doings" that resulted in the insult of a nation.

Add: you said "One person crime" (meaning, One person's act).. In other words, it like trying to say, "He did it. He's killed/punished. Case close".

There is only 1 person who committed the crime here. The rest are actions that clearly offended a lot of people, not just HK nationals. I believe I clearly pointed that to you.

You can throw insults at the ineptitude of the police force. That's fine with me. And I believe with the majority of the Filipino people too. Coz seriously they deserved to be derived.

You can throw insults at the police force for the photo ops. That's fine with me. And I believe with the majority of the Filipino people too. Coz seriously they deserved to be derived.

You can throw insults at those students for the photo ops. That's fine with me. And I believe with the majority of the Filipino people too. Coz seriously they deserved to be derived.

But to generalize, insulting the Filipino people including the innnocent ones (that's 90++ percent of the population), that is abhorable. For somebody in HK to fire a maid because of this incident, that is totally unfair.

That is why I keep saying and hoping that the cooler heads will prevail. A tit for a tat will not do anybody good.

:Later,

Guys, why don't you focus on whats happening in your own country. Your government can't even run a kids olympics. Why don't you comment on that.

I am saddened by what happened but I know venting my anger and frustration in some forums would not do any good for all affected parties. There are proper venues for airing your protest, and kopitiam is not it.

Why don't you re-read thru all the posts and tell me whether there is a discussion going on.

if u say by venting ur anger & frustration wouldn't do any good.. y the 1st post by urself? does kids olympics got anything to do with innocent ppl being killed?

LOL. And I thought you asked:

:Later,

It's ok.. it's good that you know what i meant in my post..

So they did use butter-knives. Nuff said.

The guy lost his mind. He was never given the chance to prove that he was wrongly removed from the police force. He is probably a victim too.

He was not asking for $$$$$$$$. He did not ask for terrorists to be released from jail.

He asked to be reinstated back into the police. That is all.

Basically he wanted his honour back.

It was easy to agree to his request. There is no need for any gunfire. In 3 minutes can settle the matter.

But the Phil gov refused.

The Phil gov stalled for 10 hours.

Refused to take Donald Tsang's calls.

My guess is:

Some one needed to silence him or else he will spill the beans ...........

Could it be that maybe some one saw a chance to make use of this to squeeze the HK govt or other HK tycoon to offer $$$$$$$$$$ to save their HK people.

Waiting for such offer.

Waiting for such offer.

Waiting for such offer.

Waiting for such offer.

They waited for 10 hours. It never came.

In the mean tiime thay had plenty of chances to snipe him with one shot but never did.

Maybe hoping for generous offer of $$$$$$$ from anxious HK tycoon.

They know very well slamming the windows with a sledge hammer will aggravate him to open fire.

Actually they are not dumb.

They know what they are doing.

Just a different agenda. That is all.

For somebody in HK to fire a maid because of this incident, that is totally unfair.

That is why I keep saying and hoping that the cooler heads will prevail. A tit for a tat will not do anybody good.

:Later,

For the maid example, certainly.. that's uncalled for.

same for similar tit for tat actions.

I just want to say that, the pple should recongnise it is their govt, their police force, their students etc.. that is doing things that embarrass them.

It not just "ONE person's action".

So they did use butter-knives. Nuff said.

A butterknife at close range is not necessarily less effective than an M16 pointing on the ground in a confined space.

I held M16 before.. as do many of the guys here. And my assessment of the situation is that in terms of a single kill, an M16 is not necessarily a "better" weapon in a crowded bus, compared to a terrorist who maybe trained and holding a butterknife.
