Nope, too bony. Especially shot 1 is unflattering. Shot 2 is better because it helps show how "straight" her shoulders are.

Hi Rashkae, this is Cherise, the model.
I understand what you are worry about. But to be frank to you. I'm skinny not because i'm anorexic. I know i'm very very skinny. I'm still trying to gain weight, find natural ways to gain some pounds. There are many models who are skinny and anorexic but bare in mind there are also some girls who are skinny and not anorexic. Beware: Be fair and don't prejudge and misjudge.I'm also worry and sad to hear how those models who have anorexic starve themselves. They are beautiful for who they are. Its not worth it to harm own's body for modelling but maybe some have sad background that they need the job so much...etc so they are not willing to give up but to obey the stupid rule in order to keep the job....the industry is so stressful, model needs to be firm and confident of themselves for who they are and how they are beautifully made. BMI doesn't help but body checkup help to see if a person is healthy or not.

Hi Cherise, thanks for responding. I hope you understand my own perspective as well... I find it wrong to perpetuate the stereotype that "skin and bones" and "bony shoulders" are sexy. I'm glad to hear you're aware of your weight and are actually trying to gain weight.
As to the others: let's worry a bit about the health of the girl we love to shoot, ok? And not just our own preferences for bony shoulders.

Its very subjective. BUT if a model who are anorexic, they look unhealthy not sexy. We shouldn't agree with that.
If a model have high metabolism, they are born to be slim and healthy, they can be sexy.
Lets respect that!
Don't be surprise, not all models who have anorexia look skinny, they can still look fleshy but their body are affected badly already before they become skinny and dying.
Before they even acheive that skinny body,
they already lost their energy, they are easily tired, their menstration stop...etc
Don't just look at one side.
You guys keep mentioning that there is luck of communication. Personally I don't see such problem, since it just a portrait and I like the way the model looks, without wide smile, etc.
But may be I don't understand something, so I would appreciate if someone could explain what's exactly wrong with the photos and what could be done to improve them? "Lack of communication" type of comments don't help much.

Well, it may be a safe and boring shot to you but i look at images with the basics in mind. Lighting, exposure, model's pose, etc. For these images, the exposure to me is good, not overexposed. I like how Cherise is somehow separated from the background. Good use of lighting here. Skin treatment is superb too.

Cherise seems to be at ease during the shot and it speaks a lot about communication and lack thereof. IMHO there is no lack of communication here. The photographer got what he wanted and Cherise delivered...with ease if i may add.

Id say ordinary still. Its boring and its plain. The basics should be there regardless, mutabor isnt a newbie.
Yes, but where's the "pop"? It's all technically correct, but it's not a "wow, I remember that shot..." sort of pic.
Photography should be more about art than technical accuracy. What I see here is perfect technical accuracy, but too little of the artistic aspect that would make them memorable.
In the eyes of a newbie yes it is fantastic. :thumbsup:

Well, it's most important that you like the shots.
In art, sometimes it's pretty difficult to explain in words how this 'communication' works. You know, I feel that the kind of cohesion between the photograher and the model is just not there.
Pardon me, but I just couldn't explain it in words.
