To capture movement, use a lower shutter speed(depending on how fast your subject moves) focus, snap and move the camera with the subject. If your subject is moving left, turn your camera along with the subject. Be careful not to move the camera up or down or the picture will be distorted.
To give strength or ommph to the picture, I gave the picture a slightly green cast to bring out the colour of the truck.
Some info about this shot. Remember I talked about exposing for the skies in the other post? So yeah, I exposed for the skies. And what did i get? Beautiful skies, but the banksman and the foreground were reduced to shadows.
At times like these, there are two options: Using an external lighting system or up the exposure setting of your camera manually.
This is a road. With no walkway. The only external lighting I have is the headlights of the oncoming cars. Naturally I chose the 2nd option. +2 to the exposure setting, and there you go. Banksman appear. But skies disappear. When overexposing, you are exposing the whole picture, so the naturally bright skies become blown with white. Thus losing all details. Dial it down to +1 exposure and viola, Banksman and skies live happily ever after.
Especially black furry ones with its tongue sticking out.
Open up the aperture to keep your subject in the depth of field(DOF).
The larger the aperture, the narrower the DOF. A narrow DOF means your subject is in focus, but the foreground/background is slighty or totally of focus. Depending on how you compose your shot.
In my previous post, I mentioned about using a larger aperture to achieve a narrow DOF.
Here, I used a small aperture in order achieve a huge DOF. A huge DOF will keep everything from the foreground to the backgroud in focus. Very useful for landscape shots.
For some shots, we need to use our passports to get access to them.
This is one of those shots.
Taken at Changi Airport Terminal 2 while departing for K.L. at 8.00 AM.
