Cheap Nikon D810, worth buying or not?

Even if TS is honest and genuine, there are so many other risks involved. If the sets are stolen , and the police nab the seller, they can still recover the item with zero compensation to TS. It happened to one of our members (Shizuma) recently.

If the the goods are real doesn't mean it is a proper deal. Just remember one thing. If the seller had nothing to hide, she can sell it easily on BnS threads here for hundreds more, why did she had to sell so low? The seller also seem to be trying to lay very low for this sale? And this camera is just released so it is very easy to sell it at around 3600 to 3700. Why did she let go at only 3100?

Doesn't make sense... Too fishy. Must be a catch.

Very simple to verify TS's claim. He mentioned that the seller has 3 sets of D810 for sale and he got to choose one of them. This means that there are 2 sets left. Ask the TS to give you the seller's contact no so that you can go down personally to testify whether there is indeed such sale. After meeting the seller, note down the serial number and make a call to Nikon Singapore to verify the origin of the camera( most likely is overseas set). There is also a police website whereby you can key in the serial number to verify whether the product is a stolen good or not. Not sure whether cameras are included.

In defence of TS, he did PM me with his mobile number. But there is no way to verify any of these claims.

Wise words, but often times, will fall on deaf ears to some.
I totally agree that if things are priced too low mkt price, it's always almost certainly wld raise a red flag. Seller would always want to maximise profits while buyers would always want the lowest price and it's a question of bargaining and subject to demand/supply.. With a newly launched upgraded model, I think sellers would prefer to hold onto stock and maximise profit.. I would rather go to AD and pay a premium(?) and register with NSC and get a 15mths wty....

At the risk of sounding like a snob, a few hundred dollars in savings is not enticing enough for me to take the risk. Of course if I were interested in the D810, it might be a different story
