Hi,

Other than Manfrotto, any suggestion for more valueable but good heavy duty tripod?

Libec - Cheaper and smoother than Manfrotto. Better design too I feel.

Starting from LS38 which are true fluid heads unlike the Manfrotto 50x series.

Where you got it? how much about? c'ld i have the website for reviews?thanks again!!

Can't remember but it was something just under $1k. I think the price has gone down a bit since then. You can check with Edward at expandore.biz

CP has some SLIKs on sale for under $500

A good video tripod must resist twisting. You wouldn't want your panning shots to spring back (i.e. tripod untwist) at the end of your pan.
Single-rod tripods usually won't make the cut for heavy cams tat uses video head with high drags in such a case.

You can check out in Broadcast Asia now till tomorrow.

I saw these Secced ARES tripods at Braodcast Asia yesterday, at the Medios stand. They are super-smooth, like Sachtler, but much cheaper (made in China I think). I am considering getting the ARES1 for my XH-A1, it is around S$900.
