Cheap gopro gimbal stabiliser from Feiyu

You are right.

Actually I would want to buy something to Movi or close but waiting for prices to drop further and technology to improve further. Haha

No space in my gear bag for Movi so will just get the Feiyu. Orient is selling for SGD 299.
The footages posted from Feiyu and other 2 axis gimbals seems to mimic 3 pieces of equipment very well:
1) Fluid head tripod pan - a handheld slow pan with a gopro has almost the same stability given the extreme wide angle.
2) minijib- lifting the gimbal from ankle to overhead looks just as smooth as a jib.
3) Gyroscope - dashboard, bike, and speedboat shots looks very much like cameras on gyroscopes.

I haven't seen any shots of scraping the feiyu along a straight plane like a table edge or handrails, but potentially, slider smoothness could be achieved.

These look-alke moves could be executed in tight corners too small for tripods or jibs
but truthfully, I'm finding an excuse to shed the weight of a jib from my kit!
Standing on a chair with the Feiyu should yield some dramatic shots even in tight corners.

any review / thoughts on your purchase?

Haha. I struggled with it and it fell short of expectations.
My main gripe is you can only shoot blind with it because there is no way to view the gopro LCD back due to the cage design and the Gopro wifi lag is a joke when I tried to use my smartphone. That aside, the unit I bought is erratic. Sometimes it will tilt a little left or a little rignt on start-up. Rarely will it be perfectly horizontally. The accelerometer calibration must have been screwed up at the factory.
Tilt is controllable via 2 up-down buttons but the speed is very fast and cannot be varied so I oouldn't go slow on my fake jib shots.
I would definitely wait it out until someone puts a joystick or rocker for pan-tilt control and a design a mount that accommodates the gopro LCD back.
