Cheap Benro Tripod from Beijing

A friend went for a Beijing - Tibet - Beijing trip. I asked him to purchase a Benro M-128n6 tripod and a KB-0 ball head from www.rayi.com.cn. It only costs 1180 + 380 = 1560 RMB = around SGD 312, which is a good bargain compare to the local price here.

Even better, the website have free delivery to anywhere in Beijing for purchase of RMB 500 and above. And if you make order through their hotline before 12 noon, delivery is within the same day.

Some of you may not have time to go down all the way to Wu Ke Song even if you are in Beijing, so I think this free delivery thing is quite helpful. Their price is slightly higher than other shops at Wu Ke Song. It's a quite reputable shop from what I know.

The only down side is that things bought in China might not have warranty in SG, other than some lenses which come with international warranty.

It would be so much more affordable to pick up one in China then... For example the C297/298 CF tripods with an adjustable arm costs about 350 at current exchange rates... and if i do recall correctly, a similar piece, retailling in a shop here would have cost about 700-800 locally.

The difference of which is just ridiculous...

It's justified for price to be higher in SG as stocks need to be brought in and also have to add a profit margin. Guess the models you had mentioned have low demand here?

I'm not sure about Guangzhou, but you can always check with the local shops. Guess the price should be competitive too.

Wow, KB-0 ball head only 380 Reminbi? Tat is like S$76.60. I saw on the website KS-0 only 480 Renminbi (S$96.90)...

Was considering KS-0 then realized that the only difference between KS and KB series is the coating. Hence I chose KB-0 which can do the same job but $20 cheaper.

Was testing out the KB-0 with my newly bought 150 2.8 Macro lens, control is easy and locking is very good.
