Hmmm... 3 days event too... wonders if it's the same with Erwin (aka Lance)'s post?

I would think otherwise that quoting low on price to get the deal, I would advised to quote based on the requirements and not to under cut the market.

that's right.

let the under-cutters quote as low as they want. they will then have to work like a mad dog and yet will not get enough pay to even cover their transport cost.

Let's think this way... ...how low can one quote, those organisation that request for photography services will think that since they can get undercut prices somehow. They will find their means to get it thinking that people will be there to offer them, which sadly  people will offer it.

We are in a free market economy. Law of demand and supply. The market will work out the equation. I think some photographers have to be realistic, "undercutters" are a fact of life, anywhere and everywhere. Personally, I think if your good, you will eventually get what you want. The issue is that, alot of people have attitude and are unrealistic. Before you quote for any job, I think its a good practise to ask yourself "who" you are, "where" you stand.
