Chances of buying a VC grip for 7D

Hi Bro...its the handstrap for vertical grip.

Most people use the handstrap on the existing right landscape orieintation grip.
For me, i use it as a strap for vertical shots. So it actually uses both the strap loops on the vertical grip - left and right.

So in this configuration, when not using the vertical grip, i will push the handstrap forward and then this will help to "stand" the camera landscape up with lens on. Hence avoiding the problem you had with lens leaning forwardwith bottom fornt edge of lens resting on the surface.

Anyway, I always lean my camera on it's lens... If the mount can hold a 300mm lens (okay okay, it's only the camera, grip and flash weight, probably 2 kgs?), what's with the tiny bit of weight?

agreed. i leave mine leaning too. the pressure is not on the mount housing because its not acting as a pivot. inversely, with the lens hanging out cantilevered, the pressure IS on the mount housing, like a piece of meat on a satay stick held out straight :bsmilie:

i tuck my cam strap (like kway teow) under the lens when i store my camera, but only so that my lens won't leave a dent on the cuhion of my dry cabinet :bsmilie:

but i find that troublesome to pick up, got to dig the body up :bsmilie: otherwise got to pull by the lens :nono: besides, i find that sitting it upright occupies much less space than lying it flat.

Lol... Cheeky... But to stay on the right channel, there's more depth than height in the dry cab. Anyway the issue abt straining the lens mount shouldn't be an issue at all...

As for the original post abt getting a vc for the 7d, there was a b&s post a few days ago for that by geno I think...

yup yup, unless ur lens is dunno how many Kgs n u swing ur camera around with ur XXkg lens :bsmilie:

more depth than height.. hmm... u remove the shelf then u got more height than depth liao loh :bsmilie:
