well i guess i am not the only one with so many problems with Aipo , so do stay away from Aipo , anyway i have found out the home address of miss mok in singapore due to some help from a ex dealer , those interested can pm me , if mod is ok that i post the address i will go ahead , do let me know

Why would you want to visit the person at their home.... Or write them letters... :dunno:

Whatever it is, please don't do anything rash if you visit her house

no worries , just for those bros who wants to get back their dry cabinets

my aipo is still going strong but i'm a little worried right now... lol

anyone know where I can get a trusty hygrometer to put inside my dry cab?

The hygrometer won't solve failure issue. Get some silica gel instead.

Just to share As a Ex user of Aipo dry cabinet which has let me down that includes that causes my lens to have fungus , i guess it also has caused other users many dismay due to the system after a few months , the humidity goes up and down , lcd reading display going weird , well the truth it best better to get a others brands in the market , at least so far didnt hear much of complaint of others except aipo - which many used start to complaint in the forum about the use of Aipo , the fact is you spent so much money on the purchase of your camera , look and design should not matters , it the function of the system , what the point of having a nice looking cabinets with led lights and , in the end it always give you problems and causes fungus . This is to share with my experience with the Aipo Dry cabinets

exactly.
i used mine for close to a year before i decide to get a standalone hygrometer as ihad bad feelings about the accuracy of Aipo.
usually i set Aipo setting at around 45%.
to my surprise, the actually reading was about 60% which is the favourite of fungus.

Can you pls enlighten me on why silica gel will solve the failure issue?

Hmm.....reading this thread got me worried. Guess its time to bring out my hygrometer.

When the dry cabinet fails, you'll need something to tide over until the dry cabinet gets repaired or replaced.

I see your point. Imho, a hygrometer is essential for verifying the humidity of your dry cabinet. Regular usage of the gears will also help to prevent fungus.

Mine stopped working after less than a year. Pretty much given up on getting the warranty from aipo. Anyone know where I could probably send the drying unit for repair or is it a lost cause?

Thanks.

so far mine still ok,but couple of mths back, the adaptor blown.
so just got a replacement adaptor and it starts to work.
anyway, aim setting it at about 28% on the AIPO to get about 45% reading on the standalone hygrometer.

Dear all members,

I have found out the current Singapore agent for Aipo Dry Cabinet.

If you are keen to find out more information of these products, or matters regarding the after sale service,

Please contact :

Master D’Imaging Pte. Ltd.
Blk 261, Waterloo Street.,
#01-25 Waterloo Centre,
Singapore 180261

Tel: 6336-0015 fax: 6339-1389

Mon-Fri, 9.30am to 5.30pm

If you get your dry cabinet from the previous agent and the warranty period is not over yet, I don't think Master D’Imaging Pte. Ltd. can honer the warranty since they are not related to the previous company.
but they can repair the cabinet at a cost if it is still repairable.
was told they can repair the cabinet as soon as they received the pairs from the manufactures.

hope this help.

I got mine from sgcamera. Using it for 2 years plus with no problem. I set at 45% initially but lately changed to 50%.

You mean if I set mine at 50% on my AIPO which should actually be 70% ? :what:

Are ones from sgcamerastore accurate?

get it from sgcamerastore

I know exactly a hygrometer won't solve failure issues.

This is exactly my point; to verify the humidity. Should I find out the humidity isnt what I want it to be... i'll find ways to solve it if not dump the dry cab.

Thanks this helped a lot! They will repair the unit charging for labour once they have the parts.

Cheers.

Just to share my experience with dry cabinet.....I'm using 2 Akarui cabinet, 1 is 40L & another is 60L. Both cabinet served me well for the past years, not even a single problem at all. I guess this is one of the cheap & good type you can try & rely on.

snowc & virtualme78,
I used a once-upon-a-time-calibrated and a off-the-shelf hygrometer to compare the %RH with the Digi-Cabi hygrometer - except for the temperature, they have the same %RH values.
If I had only one for comparison, I don't think I would know which to believe.
That said, perhaps this is where comparison with the "humidity salt test" would be in order.

I totally agree with you. I might be in the same situation that if two hygrometer return different values, I dunno which one to believe... thus I would prefer to get a highly trusted, more accurate hygrometer as an external one.

So am i right to say that everything will be alright if both hygrometers return the same values for RH% and Temp?

Reading this thread got me worried.

Do you have a good recommendation for hygrometer, as in brand and shop that carries them?

It can be considered to be fairly accurate if you can get values which are very close !
After doing a fair bit of internet research, I think the humidity salt test is easier
compare to finding an accurate, and affordable, hygrometer.

There used to be one such hygrometer that I've stumbled across which is accurate and
do not need calibration (and also cannot be calibrated). However, the reviews I read,
indicates there is 50/50 chance that you may get one which isn't.
