Catwalk @ Far East Plaza

thanks mate! decided to use prime instead of zoom, it really is dark over there. need to pump the ISO to 1000 - 1600 and set the aperture to 1.8, i liked the bokeh in the end :-D

Hey, Sneaker which prime lens did you use? Your displayed pictures has a very nice soft pastel color; and the faces - I don't know how to describe but to say that - they appear "soft". Therefore the models look prettier in your photos.
In my picture, the models look tired, shiny faced and very harsh ...

hi asterix, used 50mm 1.8G as my lens here. about the soft image, i actually prefer sharper images :bsmilie: but the image got soften because of these noise reductions. but surprisingly, they looked nice. loving it :-)

I had never thought of using the 50mm prime as I figured that it would have lots of limitations. But the focal distance of your pictures seem okay. You seem to be able to capture far and near shots well. Also there is also no noise even when you push the ISO up 1000 - 1600.

The soft image and pastel color also look very good. Love it too!!!

thanks mate! my only problem with prime is i have to move around a lot if i want to frame to my liking :bsmilie:
hope we can do better in the next event :-)

Same here, standing right infront of the stage.Using my new 2nd hand 17mm-85mm lens which I've brought from camera workshop. Aiming for that very long long time ago

Trevor, the pictures you mention. To me like so..so...only leh.Like very common.

must be the noise and the camera is starting to lose colors. the place is a little bit dark, hopefully the organizer will provide good light on their next runaway show

Yes bro...you are right....The place is pretty dark...less than ideal shooting conditions. That's why i decided to put in some "aerial shots" of the event

so that CS members who were not present at this event, can really appreciate the equipment used, the angles, background, constant movement of

the models etc from the pics in this thread.

I am very impressed with yr shots, SneakerX, especially the lighting....btw...did you use any flash? Maybe you could a bit more...;)

thanks for the compliment sleeksports!

tried it cause i thought i could illuminate the whole stage but i was proven wrong, the stage is in an open area and nowhere to bounce the flash!!! :bsmilie: tried the prime and it looked better but the shutter speed is still very low

I also very disappointed the place there cos it a bit dark and my photo did not came out very nice cos I use muti shot even I use my flash light and I understand the organiser are very hardworking to hold a event here at Far East Plaza with the modeling agency. Also that time everyone is heading to the I.T Fair and not much people there. So is much easy to walk around and shoot.

Thanks trevor by calling us for the shoot.

Sorry, typo error. What i meant was " Maybe you could explain to us a bit more. . . ."

So SneakerX, if u didnt use a flash, what was the shuttle speed u were using to get such a great result? I believe you must

open up yr aperture at maximum F1.8 am i right?

PS. Hope to see more pics from u from this event. . .HAHA!

it's just 1.8 aperture and 1000 -1600 ISO
shutter should be around 1/50 - to 1/60 :-)
