Thanks
Cats' eyes are actually quite like human eyes in that their irises are full of colours, textures and patterns which are as unique to each cat as our own fingerprints (and irises) are to us. We are however usually not aware of this in our own eyes because of the dark brown colour of our Asian irises.
I find the eyes of cats to be very interesting.... they seem to talk to me when I look into them. That's why I always concentrate on their eyes and try to capture the emotions that they are projecting when I photograph them.
The patterns and markings that you see in my cats' photos are real .... no CGI is involved![]()
They came out strongly because:
(1) I focussed on the eyes
(2) Most of the shots are portraits or head shots
(3) The use of flash tends to light up the irises and make all the colours, patterns and markings more prominent.

Thanks.laforge said:Wow!!! 14 cats..... Must be quite a handful looking after them... Your cat pixs are very nice and have a natural feel to it. Not like they were forced to pose :bsmilie:

Cats are actually much easier to keep than dogs as they can be left alone during the day and don't make noise. Also don't need to walk them or bathe them like with dogs. I can't imagine keeping 14 dogs but 14 cats is quite OK. Anyway, like bringing up children, nothing is too troublesome if you love them, right?![]()
They looked natural and relaxed because they know me. They might look so relaxed if the photographer is a stranger though. I like that pics of cats and other pets seem to convey unspoken impressions of their emotions, moods and state of mind very effectively, well to me at least.![]()
