Cash back on 45 f1.8 & 17 f1.8

Oly should make this an annual affair :)

The cash back promo which should be an side event other than the main promo of the camera bodies is taking more attention.

Why not write email to Oly Sg lah?

Do I really need 17mm if I have the new 25mm?

Man every camera manufacturer that actually cares about its sales should do it. I am sure the follow on benefits from such cash rebates outweigh earning a few more dollars on a per lens and body basis. Those who haven't thought of spending on m43 lenses like yours truly is likely going to dole out for a 45 and/or 17.. :)

Hi bros,

Just out of curiosity... for those who bought the 17mm f/1.8. What is the attractive part about it, given than you can get a 20mm f/1.7 for cheaper? Is the few mm diff in focal length crucial? Thanks for sharing.

just wondering, can i purchase this online with the 100 bucks olympus voucher?

Got my pair from cathay marina for 718.

Olympus selling at retail $498.
Cash back $125 & $100 voucher, u still need to pay $273.
Street price now $285.... $13 diff.

Sell ur voucher at a lower price and buy from shop will save u more than $13.

AF speed, 17 f1.8 is a lot faster than 20 f1.7. Focal length preference, it depends on each individual.

The difference in AF speed performance is sufficient though the 20/1.7 is no doubt still a very sharp lens.

Focal length wise it really depends on one's preferences but even between the 7-14/4 and 9-18mm , the view is quite different though by right it's just '2mm'.

Don't think u should jump into the 17/1.8 , u prob should try it for a day or 2 to do a proper comparison between the 2.

i think so far your pair is the cheapest.
do you need equote to get this price?

my faviourite shop in AMK quoted me 45mm for $299, 17mm for $499, both for $750.

by the way, any cash back offer for other lenses, flash etc?
