Man every camera manufacturer that actually cares about its sales should do it. I am sure the follow on benefits from such cash rebates outweigh earning a few more dollars on a per lens and body basis. Those who haven't thought of spending on m43 lenses like yours truly is likely going to dole out for a 45 and/or 17..

AF speed, 17 f1.8 is a lot faster than 20 f1.7. Focal length preference, it depends on each individual.

The difference in AF speed performance is sufficient though the 20/1.7 is no doubt still a very sharp lens.

Focal length wise it really depends on one's preferences but even between the 7-14/4 and 9-18mm , the view is quite different though by right it's just '2mm'.

Don't think u should jump into the 17/1.8 , u prob should try it for a day or 2 to do a proper comparison between the 2.
