Canon's white 70-200mm 'L' lenses

Just to clarify for those f2.8 lens user, whether u will remove the tripod collar while on handheld shooting?

Mine stays on for good. Kinda gotten used to it. ;)

I would turn it upside down so that the lens would sit snugly in my left hand. Sometimes diagonally to the right so that it would be nice for both landscape and portrait orientation

im a hobbyist also. but my 2.8 IS is not for show off :nono:, its what i need.

If it's a hobby then they are all wants and not needs. ;)

I'm a freaking lazy weakling... light lens with IS please!! ...so I no need carry tripod as well! :sweatsm: I know it's lame, but I'm the sort that will choose what i want to shoot from what my lens can capture well...

since the 70-200 F4 IS and 70-200 F2.8 non-IS are around the same price range, which would be a better choice? 3 stops advantage through IS? or 2 stops advantage with the F2.8? I hope i have no misconceptions here.

If you're shooting fast action, f/2.8 non-IS would be a better choice than f/4 IS since the IS is only good for still images.
