recently just acquired a canonet 17.
aperture not working properly.
when turn down to f16, aperture stays at f16 even if aperture is turn back to f4
must turn the film advance a few times to get it back

anyone knows where i can get this problem fixed?

Try posting your problem in Rangefinder.com

It's a mechanical cam and most of the work you can do yourself.

alternatively, you can send it for repair; there are several shops that do this in the peninsular area. you can do a search in the forums, there are a few threads that list out shops that can do repair/servicing.

I used CAM.X at peninsular hotel before, sent in my konica auto S2 for repair there before, as well as couple of manual SLR for servicing.

I had this problem before. Right after you film advance, rotate the aperturing constantly just to keep the stickyness off. And also, check www.rangefinderforum.com they are very friendly and would be glad to help you out!

:)

thanks guys
i tink i probably bring down to peninsula just for a chk to be sure.
