Hello everyone,

I've just bought a Engergiser EPX625G battery for the camera, the first time I pressed the batt check button the bulb lights up but the metering needle doesnt move...so I took out the battery, checked it and place it back but now the batt check light doesnt even light up :o

anyone know what could cause this ? is my metering spoiled ?

thanks !

hmm strange, now it works....

sorry to bother

anyway does anyone knows where to get the 1.4v one ? (zinc-air) correct me if I am wrong..

Actually, it's 1.35V mercury battery that is needed but the Engergiser EPX625G battery is 1.5V. There is no 1.35V battery available in Singapore.
Regards,
chiawk

oh I see...thanks

so any tips on compensating the exposure ?

I think that the closest you can get is the Wein cells that are 1.35v. I get mine from eBay and am pretty happy with it.

You can refer this thread for the PX625 battery.

BTW - the positive (or was it the negative?) contact of the camera, the rounded part, sometimes gets oxidised and the loses connection. Cleaning it helps.

oh so do you know where can I purchase them ? ;)

Think I bought some from electronic store like Best Denki or Harvey Norman. It is common because it seems to be used for hearing aids.
I gave up after they went flat fast. Once you open the plastic capsule wrapping and air comes into contact, the life starts to go out.

You will see hole/s in the bty. They don't call it zinc- AIR for nothing.
Maybe got some physics reaction with the air.

the contacts looks clean, thing is the batt check won't light up again and the needle wont move again...it did for a brief period.

will sending it for a check at any of the camera repair shops cost anything ?

thanks
