i thought 400D hav AF beam when u use the pop up flash??it will flicker a while to assist in your focusing right? never have focusing prob if its within the min range. correct mi if i'm wrong.

yup you're right.. the 400d has the AF-assist which is the flicker of the popup flash. It sure is irritating ;p

not irritating for me since i'm the shooter:bsmilie:btw anyone using the gary fong puffer? diffuser for built in flash.

cheezy cool>

now i have much better understanding....

I have a few options on my mind now...as what you have suggested

1. Body + Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8
2.Body + Kit + 85mm f/1.8
3.Body + Kit + 50mm f/1.8

If i have a budget of $1500 (inclusive of lens), what do you suggest will be best buy besides the standard kit? The Tamron u suggested cost around 700-800 right? means if the body is about $1000 .. means over budget liao :embrass:

mm.... anyone gonna get a 400d sometime soon?
maybe we can get it together for better pricing?
I heard from my friend the latest promo price is around $1099 (not sure with kit or not)

I bought the body + tamron 17-50 f/2.8 a week ago from alan photo for $1525. $925 for the body and $600 for the lens. That might be a combi you could consider which is around your budget. Its great for newbies as it covers the range needed for everyday photography(from landscape to portraits), and its relatively fast which is good for low light. Just bought the 50mm f/1.8 yesterday for $130 to get better portrait shots but might be starting to regret not getting the f/1.4. Having said that, the 50mm f/1.8 is really great value for $$.

how to look for a tripod for my 400D? there's so many!

Read THIS and then decide. Most basic tripod + head setup is a Benro, sold by Jack006 from the Mass Order forum here @ CS.

Hey Guys!! Any idea which 3rd party battery suits my BG-E3? My "juice" not enough for 1 whole night event shooting using original batteries...
