Did you shoot something more than 5meters away using in-built flash? How about changing to higher ISO and bigger aperture and try it without the flash firing?

Bro, 400D is indeed a good buy. Everytime i want to sell it away it gives me great pics. Think it will be with me for no matter which supposidly better Canon i buy. Show u some pics taken with 400D and 17-85mm without any PhotoShop.. and make u real happy with 400D. Okie.. during next time we are out?

Yes. Works with my 400D. Make sure your AF is on.

L - Canon have some lens with a RED band to one end of the lens. These are L lens. Simply put, they are profesionally crafted lens and better elements proof to the lens. They cost significantly more...

Thanks for the reply, I was shooting with a 50mm f1.4 @ 1.4 using the RC-1. I basically mounted the cam on a tripod, walked in front of it, and hit the remote. Some shots I'm in focus, others im out of focus. hmm

Did u hold the remote shutter slightly to let it focus first? Since you are not behind the camera, you cant really know what's the camera is focusing at. @F1.4 the DOF is shallow~ Even focusing at the nose, ur eyes may seem OOF~

Bro, if u are shooting at F1.4 and is sufficiently away fom camera... do note that its difficult to contol the Depth of Field (DOP)... try up to F4 for your shoot.. it should be okie.

Oh, it wasent a portrait, it was a full body shot. I just found it weird because for some photos the background was in focus, and I was out of focus, even though i was alot closer to the camera than the background

meter your AF to where you face is to be (o get slomeone sit in youtr place and manual focus)... tighten your aperture to F4 or higher number... it should work.

You back is focused as you set your aperture too big.. so when the AF is on the wall... u get blurred off easily. Cheers!

Errr.. I'm not exactly sure about this but there is a eye-piece block on your EOS strap for you to block the eye piece (prevent light entering) when you use tripod with remote. Don't know if that would help in the AF. I believe it helps with the metering.

i have the tamron 17-50mm f2.8 and have done many weddings with it.
it's quite noisy when it sharpens to focus on the subject.
it produces great photos. =)

do you mean 17-55mm IS USM f2.8?
$1350 grey is the price almost 2 times how much u will be paying for the Tamron

nope i am referting to the 18-55mm IS.similar to the kit lens.
it about 300 dollar new
