i used a 75-300mm 4.5-5.6 zoom lens

Do u feel this lens heavy when shooting? So i bet u carry a tripod around all the time. heh... i just got one. have not used it yet... but initial tries is that i definitely need a tripod from 150 beyond...

hi people!~ glad to see many 400D users around, 450Ds are coming out though, hahas
been shooting with it for a year now, added many new stuff to my setup now =)

75-300, quite okay la =)

hi, 400D user here as well. dun relli have great works like yall. some humble shots at my deviant as below. =)

the 75-300 is not heavy. but i would say you need a higher shutter at the tele end, this is where its lacking the IS.

I am getting a 70-200mm f4 and 100mm macro soon!

i think i really want to get the battery grip for the additional stability, also the flexibility to use AA battries incase original runs out. i currently have 2 original battries.

come March 08 my 400D would be 1 yr old.. it's my 2nd Canon DSLR.. started with a 350D..
I live it and it served me well!

it's my companion for wedding events and freelance assignments. =)

thinking whether to buy extended warranty...

Hi All,
Welcome to the newbies world of 400d, me too i'am new with the digital SLR.
Hope we can share ideas and have some coffee.

Eh? "Newbies world of 400D" ?? Haha.. not everyone owning a 400D here is newb xD and the camera itself isn't newb (yeah sure, it's not pro, but the newb ones are th point and shoot compacts =) )

Anyways... Welcome!!

My first dSLR. Life in the dSLR fray didnt start out all too well, my AF point lights were out of alignment within a month but that was my fault. Other than that, I have never regretted a moment owning the 400D. It's a great beginner dSLR

What causes the AF light out alignment? Is it very obvious in the viewfinder?

I use the blower to blow to hard then the misaligned. Yeah its quite obvious. when you select Automatic Selection, all should light up but only some light up and got light smearing on some points. Also when one point which light is spoilt, you only can hear the sound but you won't see the red light blink. Took about a week or so to repair.

I see... Could you recall which part did you blow perhaps next time we will keep a look out. Which kind of blower you used?

Which part did you blow into? Perhaps we can avoid it in the future. Which blower did you use?

Just got 50mm f1.4, bout 3 days back...used it that same day without the hoya filter i got bcoz was given wrong size. But after went back to change and went for shot at night with it, i notice some sort of flare distortion, so thought it was the filter fault... then went home discovered that the flare distortion is from the lens itself!! The filter makes it more obvious...sigh.

Gonna go down to canon CSC to have it check out..coz i cant see any, smudges on the lens under normal lighting.

P.S: Or is it this lens cant shoot direct at lights? Eg: LED light directly?

What aperture did you use? Post a photo for us to see?

i bought my 400d from taiwan 2 months back. no complains about it at all.

has anyone tired the wireless remote b4?
