Canon vs Bessa

Hi, I'm relatively new to the world of RF. I have a canonet and a yashica gsn, and recently i decided to get a RF with interchangeable lenses. I've search online and a few models have caught my attention, mainly the Canon P (it's lovely), Canon 7, Bessa R and Bessa R2M/R3M. I cant decide whether i should get a canon or a bessa, so i was wondering which one would you guys choose if you were me? and what are the pros and cons of the different models? oh and i wear glasses, so would the 35mm frameline in both the canon and the bessa be really difficult for me to see? :think:

Just bet your pennies on the R2M + 35/f2.5 PII. Great value. (in stock!)

hmm really? thats good news! but well i havent decided whether to shoot 35mm, 40mm, or 50mm (may i know whats the diff?) and i'm still thinking whether to get R2A/R3A or R2M/R3M.. any idea? btw chiif is it convenient for me to go to your place or sth to view the cameras before making my decision?

Go meet chiif & no turning back into RF world:thumbsup: That's what happened to me about a year ago. Then I wasn't even considering RF; I was buying CV lenses for my Canon dSLR Welcome in advance.

Yup. Of cos! The Bessa R is a screw mount lens, it can take the 12/f5.6, 15/f4.5, 21/f4, 25/f4, 28/f3.5, 35/f2.5, 35/f1.7, 50/f1.5, 50/f2.5, 75/f2.5, 90/f3.5 screw mount lenses natively (no need adapter).

If you are just starting out RF, have limited budget, won't go into the Leica space in the next 2 to 4 years, then, Bessa R should be good enough for you. Stick with Voigtlander lenses and you are sure to leave more money to spend on your film, developer & scanner plus a nice trip to your dream destination.
