I'm thinking that maybe Canon caught in surprise. They never realize the potential of compact camera like NEX or GF, and they are bet that their competitor mistakenly read the market. But they are wrong, and they now want the shares... and they want it fast, so hijacking competitor brain power or even man power maybe happen here.
I hope they not too rush to release something that immature, normally their 1st batch are in mess.
I hope that Canon do research the market and not only aggresive in their marketing campaign, and more than that I hope that Canon stay innovative. Quite dissapointed with the 60D, I saw to little improvement here compare to their competitor (but I can see the advertisement every night on the TV).

60D is probably a re-alignment of the product after 7D came out
Previously the xxD series was the gap between the 550D series and 5D Mki mkii series
now that 7D came out, they have to realign 60D to a lesser product.

I hope Canon can just take a look at one of their film camera - EOS IX, for inspiration on an excellent compact SLR body, with a REAL viewfinder. IF they can have the mirror box and yet make it so compact on a film APS, why cant they just adapt it to the digital sensor.....
