Hehe, thought your too busy playing with your new toy to be skulking around the forums. ;)

Hi
I have just bot the S3-IS as a backup camera. Had a tough time deciding between FZ7 and S3. The deciding factor is the LCD that can be tilted. This is most helpful for low and high angle shots.

JWT:)

Wow! S3 is backup only.....u D/SLR user?

I tend to do that with pictures of my friends. Do not post them online, just email to them & keep them for your own memories.

Yah loh, I always think about this: If I take a pic of a stranger on the street and post it here, am I violating the law? Can the person bring me to court?:dunno: Worry that one day my son will sue me when he is older......Hahahaha:bsmilie:

Nope. There is as yet no law of privacy in Singapore. You cannot be charged for taking photos of people without permission. However, if you commit mischief or other malicious acts (e.g. outrage of modesty) while taking the photo, you can be charged for these acts.

Hmmm. I have read in newspaper that if someone took your photo, the pic belongs to him. But you can apply a court-order to stop him from publicising the pic......so he can only keep it for his own viewing.

So, if there is no court-order, then the photographer is free to air the pic in public? May be can start a thread in Kopitiam......

You may have read foreign reports. The laws are different there. In Singapore, you are right in that the photo belongs to the photographer. Whether you can get a court order to stop him from using it depends on the case. If I just take a picture of you and put it up on Club Snap to show how good or bad my photo is, there is nothign you can do. But if I make some form of representation e.g. use you to market my product, suggesting that you somehow endorse or is connected with my product, you may be able to stop me.

The news I read were local news. They were more about couple who made intimate foto and then break up, then the gal worry and apply for the court-order.

So, to me, if you are not willing to let the photographer post your pic, you should be able to apply the court-order to stop posting......what do you think.

Any law practitioner around??

Looking at comparisons out there, the S3 seems to be a bit less noisy then the S2.

at which iso value?? is the s3 iso 800 usable?? so s3's iso 400 is usable now?

how many of u guys actually purchased a dry box for your S3??

in my opinion buying a dry box just for the s3 is like wastage. a big dry box for everything is better

Does it help to just keep the cam in an aircon room?
