u mentioned about uv filter, i need an adapter for it rite?
the purpose of uv filter is just to protect the glass of the lens or? :dunno:

Hi, the lens adapter is a cylindrical housing that goes around your lens, then you mount a UV filter at the open end, thus your entire lens is enclosed in this adapter+filter assembly.

It is used to filter out the UV spectrum of light which will cause some blue/purple fringing on the film SLR (but for Digi cam, it is debatable). Since it doesn't change the colour or the brightness of the pic, and also it is cheaper, so it is generally used as a lens protection filter....still, it is debatable whether one should use it for protection or not....but most people do.
